He took out the instrument cluster and changed 3 little cylindrical shaped
capacitors (soldering required). They are 4.7uF 25V then 10uF 50V then 10uF
16V. You can buy then @ Mousier or Digikey.com for a few cents.

Hi. I am having the same problem with my cluster. I just got the car today.
And i have no idea why its like that.
