Jonny Hoppman says:

Do you have a CEL?

Jonny Hoppman says:

Yessir, know all about that thread from ClubLexus. I’m SC400slide there.
Also what usually causes rough idle and such on these SC’s is the well
known drivers side coil pack. We’re still trying to figure out why they
fail on the drivers side mostly if not always.

NatureAppreciator says:

Think I might do this when I get some free time, and the weather warms up.

Jonny Hoppman says:

…if you are having car issues, We’d be happy to assist you. TB could be
dirty, MAF could be dirty or bad, IACV could be dirty or bad, TPS could be
out of spec or bad, Coils could be bad, Spark plugs and wires could be bad,
vacuum hose loose, fuel filter, fuel pump, dirty fuel, fuel pump ecu, or
ECU campacitors leaking. Does this help any? 🙂

Jeremiah Hoppman says:

It fixed it a little bit. We also replaced the O2 sensors, and the TPS.
Keep in mind, cleaning the IACV is NOT a fix-all for a vehicle that runs
rough. It may be one of the aforementioned parts, or something else such as
the MAF sensor. Make sense?

Skoolaz Plummer says:

well i will have to check those… i need a tranny flush its my first sc i
always have nissans 350z/maxima/g35but always wanted a sc400 pick one up
but this lost of power is no good haha

Skoolaz Plummer says:

Haha ok man. I’ll let u kno I order cats for it and a tranny filter and
plugs I changed the fuel filter already but it’s still loggy like pedal to
the floor and picking up slow as if I was hardy tapping it.

Allen Ivy says:

i tried doing this and their are actually 3 screws holding the iacv in, the
bottom screw on mine was all rounded out 🙁 fail

Jonny Hoppman says:

I had no problem with my SC. I just cleaned it for maint sake. Look below
on one of my comments to see what parts/issues it could be. A long list at
the bottom. Though, sounds like you might have a clogged fuel filter, dirty
gas, loose drive line cable ect ect…LMK if I can help you further. GL

Sorry about the wind!

David E says:

The fuel pump ECU is notorious for failing and causing rough idle/rough
engine while driving scenario. Search Google with this verbiage for a great
diagnosis how to: “The definitive guide to fixing SC400 hesitation issues”

Skoolaz Plummer says:

what was the prob with ur sc cause mine dnt respond well on take off and
seem like its losing power, but no unusual noise etc idk… ran some sea
foam in it feel lilbetter but problem still there, in L it takes off great
but in D OR 2nd it loggy…any1 can help? 9176641637 jr

Jeremiah Hoppman says:

oops… sorry about that. the guy that had this car before us had removed a
lot of the screws already… So in places where there were supposed to have
four screws, it had two, and so on. were you successful in your mechanics?

cali108 says:

yep there is bottom screw, and mine is all stripped out too! 🙁

Jonny Hoppman says:

SC’s are new to me to, but man, once you know them, you’ll keep them for
life.

Cavalli Moore says:

After doin this did the car give u any other problems similar if not the
same?
