Not bad but I’d use a mini fuse tap $5 on eBay. Also LOC sucks ass. Spend the money and buy a Audiocontrol LC2i. You can thank me later

poxcr says:

So you actually installed an amplifier without disconnecting the negative terminal from the battery? That is a big no no. You should never ever do any electrical work on a car while the negative terminal is connected to the battery.

PatentRob says:

A great how to video and the only one that I have seen that instructed you who to tap into the rear speaker using a LOC connected to the amp. I was also puzzled as to why you didn’t use both rear speakers, but your explanation suffices. I will now install my infinity powered subwoofer into my Chrysler 300C with confidence.

Hung Tang says:

very good ,thanks

I was wondering if it would be okay to install 2 12 inch kickers with a 1000 watt sony Xplode amp into a 2012 CT200h?? the reason I’m hesitant to do so is because the car is a hybrid? or like what other people call it “a nice prius” hahaha but anyways I’m scared since its a more electronic vehicle the subwoofers can basically kill the battery or even worse the car? some feeback would be greatly appreciated!! 😀

bullseye1670 says:

dude mine already has a factory amp….. how do i upgrade

tstewzzz says:

He only taps into the factory speaker to get a signal for the Line Out Converter. This does not damage anything. You could use alligator clips as long as you make sure they don’t come loose, however this isn’t the most ideal method. Soldering is a good idea or you could cut the wire and put in a T-connector.

KingDeceit says:

You shouldn’t be tapping into the systems factory speakers, Please ignore what this guy did. In order to wire your aftermarket subs, Directly connect the subs to the amplifiers specified terminal do not tap into another speaker or you will blow the factory speaker.

KingDeceit says:

No. Wire your remote wire from the aftermarket stereo wire harness directly to the amp, You can install a switch between it for fun but tapping into a fuse like he did is silly.

KingDeceit says:

Please do not wire your remote wire the way this guy did, Wrapping it around a fuse is not a smart idea. Run it the proper way from the wire harness from the stereo all the way to your amplifier.

I hooked up two Rockford Fosgate Punch P/3’s and I love them. This video helped me out a WHOLE bunch.

Alex Krienke says:

You should not be able to own tools

Rocky Stevens says:

Hey man quick question what gauge is the spade crimp connector you put on the remote wire that you connected to the amp? Thanx in advance

nadia nur says:

i have a loc like that but what am i supposed to ground the 2 grnd wire s to? n i tapped into the speaker wires

urgirlswidme says:

so would i need to install kill switch?

Matthew Vanden Hogen says:

Hey I was wondering, instead of soddering the speaker wires to the factory sub would I be able to use alligator clips and clip it on to the connection points? thanks

faggot

Michael Mejia says:

Wow Thanks a Ton!!! You saved me $250 install. I love you man!

Amin Charaniya says:

and where can i find that mini fuse?

Amin Charaniya says:

Even though the factory sub on my lexus only has two wires going to the sub and my LOC has 4, how should i wire that?! please help!

ProvenHelper says:

Hey this methodology can be applied for practically any car. #caraudio

ProvenHelper says:

Nice, enjoy the subs 🙂 #caraudio

Adrian Ha says:

awesome video !!! ,work on mazda 3 2012 perfectly !!=)

Nightshift Endeavor says:

awesome video, I don’t have a Lexus but really good info

Invictuz says:

Nice video, works well for the non ML Lexus.
The issue with the Mark Levinson stereo is the DSP used as part of the “premium” surround sound.
Tapping into only one of the bass sources (door woofers are a better source than the back deck sub in my exp) is the signal is not the full low-end you would get out of a normal stereo (where bass I produced in a mono).

It will work tapping just one speaker line, you just wont get the fullest bass.

Informative Video though! Thanks for making it.

ProvenHelper says:

Yes but my speaker is dual voice coil which basically makes it like a two speaker setup because it has two sets of wires. But technically speaking when you are setting up a subwoofer for bass, you only need to run it to one speaker and double up the wires from the LOC because bass is not directional, that’s why you have mono block amplifiers. #caraudio

ProvenHelper says:

Enjoy it Bro!

craigo101 says:

fuck yeah man live saver ..deck remote wire wouldnt work this forsure worked because i got my p3 hooked up bangn…thanks again

BartGBx says:

So you only use 1 rear speaker to connect the amp?

MsMaMbO13 says:

how do yu put the speaker cord

Daniel Sava says:

lol, no worries i got it ;), u could just answer me and not cry 😛

ProvenHelper says:

I won’t answer questions by someone who types in all CAPS, because it’s just silly!

ProvenHelper says:

It’s all in the video bud.

MADdrummer971 says:

Putting the remote wire in the fuse box puts an unsafe load on it and will result in car computer damage, monitor failure or blowing other fuses, always run the remote wire to a dedicated remote on the radio or the acc wire on the factory wiring harness.

ELM0NTE13 says:

A nice vid a how do I know which is positive and negative were you tap in to get the RCA signal what’s the battery trick? Thumbs up man
