Loverly job robert :-), that should be ok for a long time now.
That camera picks up the dust on your lcd monitor well, i bet it can do
macro.
I did notice the cleaness of the caliper, it didnt look very old at all,
and the slide pins were ok as well, perhaps the brakes were serviced
earlier in the year.
Also I forgot – if anyone uses an impact gun on their wheel nuts – NEVER
use the impact gun on the security/anti-theft special wheel nut. If you
find your impact gun damages the edges of your lug nut points, use a wrap
or two of masking or electrical tape to help protect your nuts. Stay gold.
Nice work again Robert. A few things I do when doing this job: Before
pushing the pistons back into the calipers, check the brake fluid to make
sure its not overfull – if its very full it might push against the brake
reservoir cap and cause issues. A little Antisieze between the rotor
“Hat” face and the inner wheel face helps to later remove wheels that like
to stick to the rotors. The slide pins can be a real bugger to replace
esp if they have a rubber sleeve on the inner area….air pressure builds
up when installing them and some cussin might be needed – I only remove
those if they are not moving slick and smooth. Turn the wheels/rotors
after install to check for drag. Running in/seating the pads to the
rotors is sometimes called “Bedding”. Stay gold.
Good video! I own the same car. Here are the torque specs in ft/lbs
Front brake caliper installation bolt (Holds section of caliper that flips
open) 25
Front brake torque plate and Steering knuckle (Holds caliper to body of the
car) 87
