I did everything correctly (hopefully), and I got the folding key cut at a
dealer. But the problem is that the car starts, but then turns off after
like 2 secs. Help please! All of the buttons work, however.

A tip for cleaning out those stuck remote buttons… :

Once key or remote opened, take the circuit board out.

Clean the rubber housing where the buttons make contact.. (I use alcohol).

Then clean the little push buttons on the board.

Then drop a small drop of “Mystery Oil” (or other but Mystery works best
for me) lubricant on each button.

Then press each buttons (I use a mini screw driver) a lot of times as you
will see all the dark grunt, dirt and grease come out from them. (This is
what makes them get stuck and not work properly)

Continue until all dark stuff comes out and u start hearing a nice click
every time u push each button. (This means they are unstuck)

Clean access lubricant and re-assemble back.

Enjoy!

Your welcome! Glad it helped!

Boyd's Locksmith says:

Sorry, not at this time. But check back, often as we get new items in
frequently!

Boyd's Locksmith says:

Yeah, That would be great!!

xCJWx1 says:

Can you still use old key to open doors or start car if needed or does it
need key and module in same case to work?

Boyd's Locksmith says:

The Key and Module must be in the same case to start the car. The
transponder chip is in the module and that is what the car communicates to
start your car. If you want to save the old key, even with a broken shell
you can use it to open the door lock, but it can’t start your car. Hope
this answers your question.

K NG says:

Why not sell a Key shell that allows using the existing broken key? i.e.
take the existing key blade of the existing broken shell and attach to the
new key shell. That saves the trouble of key cutting.
