Thank you… I wanted to record the entire process of replacing one set of
brake pads in one, uninterrupted take, to show how long it actually takes
and each step that is involved. The long view was so that you can identify
the vehicle and still make out what I am doing (step by step details are in
the Description for DIY). I am not familiar with the ’06 GX470, but a quick
google search revealed a few sites, one with photo instructions for that
model (Lexus Owner’s Forum). Thanks and good luck.

Thank you waliagovind… great observation about keeping dirt and grit off
of your new brake pads. I was working over a concrete pad at my home and
before I start any repair work I use a leaf blower to sweep away any loose
dirt and debris from the work area. Just before they are installed I would
still wipe down the new pads with a clean rag to make sure that the pads
are absolutely clean.

Good Job with the video. This will help anyone trying learn to do a disk
job. I would just add a big cloth or a cardboard box to keep the new pads
of the dirty ground. You did a good job of keeping everything clean but
many rookies will get dirt on the pads.

You’re welcome… I am glad I could help. Gather up the tools, new pads and
try to work over a clean solid surface… and above all else – be safe and
work smart. Use Jack Stands to support your vehicle. Also, if your local
Parts Store or a Machine Shop can turn or resurface your rotors, do it. My
local Auto Parts Store no longer turns rotors. I recently have found a
place that does. Next time I will resurface the rotors, this will give
better stopping power and make your pads last longer.
