Thanks for the vid! Just got the message Smart key’s battery low and google’d on mobile phone for solution and this was first search result. Quick and easy.
one important difference between my 2012 key and the one shown: the “valet” key does NOT detach and thus some other device must be used to depress the unlock switch.
perfect. tfs. the manufacturer’s owner’s manual supplied with my ’12 range rover gives the wrong diagram and instructions. assholes, when you consider the prices they charge for vehicles and parts.
The valet key on my LR4 keyfob didn’t pop out, but the rest of the instructions were perfect. THANKS! A small screwdriver head did the job well of opening the other side. Our two keyfobs lasted about 2.5 yrs on the original battery, so reasonable battery life considering all that the keyfob is used for.
danke …
Thank you. Very helpful!
Very helpful. This worked for my Range Rover HSE key too! Same battery. 🙂
Awesome! Just what I needed to know.

You’re very welcome. Glad I could help.
lol
Well, this keyless go business basically means having to transmit more often than not so it tends to use up batteries pretty quickly.
Dude, you’re the man – thank you. How does this thing go dead so quickly? With 13,000 views you and I aren’t the only ones.
Thanks!!!!
Outstanding! You saved me a trip to the dealer!
Anyone who dislikes this is too stupid to have internet
Thanks saved me a lot of time going through the handbook
Dunno. Sorry.
No programming necessary
is this the same for the Range Rover Sports 2007
