Radio? Who Needs a RADIO!? (Land Rover LR3)

Owner drove his 2006 Land Rover LR3 from 5 hours away to get his radio and navigation system diagnosed. One day it decided to not turn on and has been dead ever since.

The Land Rover has almost 250k miles on the clock and has a lot of electrical faults, but driving without music is no fun!
He already tried a used unit from eBay, but that did not turn on either.

Can we fix this Audio/Navigation system no parts required?

Is the radio and or nav VIN locked on the LR3? If so how would a used unit work?

Veronica Wade says:

I'm having the same problem with my LR3. Same year. I so wish I was close to that area… but I live in Austin, TX. So, let me find a reliable shop that can do this job for me. AWESOME VIDEO…. very educational for me. VERY IMPRESSED with your knowledge and persistency. 5 STARS SERVICE!

Another great diagnosis video, I love these. Ivan, I need some help, I have used my ThinkTool pros on a 2004 Chevy Express van, a 2005 Ford Explorer and a 2007 Grand Jeep Cherokee and I cannot get the scanner to show Topology map to scan the vehicle. What am I doing wrong. It scans the vehicle just fine just not using the topology page.

Hello Ivan, and truly, like the comment below. When you can do a job, this is how it looks like. Top Tear Professional. Yes, I like it. One person that CAN fix cars. Well I have not seen Keith's work. He might be #2.

Werner Danler says:

Those head units may have internally fuses that are blown.
So the bad relay was the problem with the nav system and the head unit was bad.
That'll teach him to close the window when leaving the car.
