This guide was created to help you with the building and troubleshooting of the LEGO Technic 42110 Land Rover Defender set. This is a great set with a complex gearbox that can run smoothly, but there are a lot of traps during the building process that are not easy to avoid, I’m here to help you with these and also to find the root cause of the problems of you made any mistakes.

Racing Bricks when I try to move my back wheels they fall off and I already fixed that gray bit that made them turn oppositely but the wheels don’t move and when I force them to move they and fall out of the piece holding the tire

Thanks a lot. Located my error myself (part of the fun) but verified it with your video before I put everything apart!
On my one the other wheels spin the opposite way to the wheel that I spin
I went wrong on step 65, fixed it but as I had to take the whole thing apart I was fed up with the set and it’s currently in a bin bag.
Ya know, you can't make this up, even the Lego defender is broken

Thank you very much for this. Step 65 error. I had a very frustrated son who had spent so much time building and couldn't get the wheels to turn. This fixed it.
Even after fixing step 65 my car doesnt move foward , pls help!

The input and output shafts are correctly aligned but it’s still clicking

I have an issue I don't think was addressed, my outer u-joint that drives the engine pistons is causing the drive train to bind up and not work, I can't find the reason why but as soon as I remove the outer u-joint it all works fine.
You saved my lego set thank you very much I couldnt belive it works but it does.

The problem I had was with the wheels. At the beginning of the build, I must've done something wrong and the back wheels were turning in different directions. Didn't realize until I finished the build
wow , wish I would watch this earlier , just finished my build on last sunday and it doesnt work as it should . Did most likely all those mistakes , starting from very first one- used black toothed wheel instead of grey . No wonder I was short of black one later for my winch . Good job , now need to find time to correct all .
I give up, im gonna rebuild my land rover from scratch. This is a fun project… 😛
