So I had this 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport towed into my shop. The vehicle was a no crank / no start and had a message “smart key not found refer to handbook” on the instrument cluster. So I decided to share my journey with you of troubleshooting the cause of this problem. I think you may find this interesting and useful especially because this involves diagnosis of the can bus communication system.

Exact same problem right down to the ccarwash..2010 Range Rover . Unplugged the Parking Aid Module. found the corrosion. started right up Thank You!!!f
Hiii…if in case, the ECU is our problem and we disconnect the ECU…but if we disconnect the ECU, the car will totally shut off nd there will be no CAN signal nd the car will not start in any case, then how will we diagnose this situation??? Or will the signal be there even if we disconnect the ECU?????
I am in awe of your skills and persistence…
A very very useful video! You worked hard to find that obscure fault. Well done and thanks for posting this video.
You make honor to your name, "Advanced Level Auto".

Iam new to this channel.I have a 2018 range rover autobiography the smart key doesn't lock unlock the car when start the car while the smart key is in my pocket it won't start rather it need to stick the key to steering column so i want someone''s help thanks.
Dude thank you so much I had a similar issue after I washed my vehicle (2011 RRS HSE Lux edition). Took apart the back panel like you did, unplugged the "black box", didn't see any water or corrosion but once I plugged it back in everything worked fine! Also, my key fob is old and busted which is why I first assumed it was a key fob issue… It was not. This solved my problem thank you again!
3:35 you remove rong fuse .. the told 17 and you remove number 5 or 6
Thank you for this. We were stranded at the mall until we saw this video ❤️❤️❤️
I was literally gonna give you the same answer you got… I’m glad I forwarded it to the end lol ps they all leak cover the modules with plastic and you’ll save the customer money since the amp and other modules are down there
There should be a 2 thumbs up option
