Yeah, well worth looking after. Just hope the expensive stuff is out the way now. The spring hanger bushes need doing though – might replace the springs and shocks then too but I think that’s a job for next year.
You have a great project Vehicle well worth putting new parts on and fixing
Thanks, yeah the distributor cap in particular looked pretty bad and the rotor arm too.
Apparently the 2.25 petrol goes really well on LPG. Sounds a good idea, just doing the short trip to work I see the fuel gauge drop a bit….
Nice update, and very good gasket cutting job – they look like OEM to me:). Ignition parts will probably help, if the components you are replacing are worn-especially HT’s imho. Looking forward to your next update.
I know someone who recently did an LPG conversion on one of these. With the cost of petrol these days and the fact he is using it as a daily driver it makes sense.
Thanks for the comment, they are the best working 4×4 out there but very high maintenance. With servicing every 3000 miles I can understand why he chose to sell it, it’s ok for a younger chap like me to be crawling underneath it every weekend but I won’t be able to do that for ever.
Nice my grandad used to have one like that but his one was a work horse he worked on a farm but put bigger tires thick rope around the nudge bar. But as he got older he wanted something more smooth running. I was sad to see that Land rover go 🙁
