Would this cause stalling/idling issues?

How many miles did this vehicle have? Just want to get an idea of when these go bad.

I'm having a exact same problem in my 03 Range Rover however I'm only getting p1170 for quite a while I will clear it and it will be gone for a while. I do have an aftermarket Cat converter that was put on there 3 years ago. after watching this video I'm sure that could be the problem? Recently I've cleared the code and it came right back, what's unusual about this time I got a transmission failsafe on dash, would this code for the Cat converter do that? Shut the vehicle off and restarted, the transmission fail is off right now. Also I never got any other codes for the transmission! While the transmission was in failsafe mode it was very hesitant and the engine sound a little funny but it drove. Please help if you can!

Steve Stonacek says:

In addition to this problem if the transmission has been out of the car and some one didn't get the left and right bank aft O2 sensors connected correctly (reversed ) It will also set this code P1170 and P1173 after 20 to 30 miles of driving. This is what happened to my Rover right after purchasing it used. We installed new O2 sensors before and aft cat. new Mas airflow sensor new PVC valve and all related hoses, smoked tested the intake to check for leaks smoke tested the exhaust to check for cracks no luck the code kept coming back. Only after checking wiring diagrams found the aft sensor leads had been reversed. We switched them back problem solved. Its a easy screw up if someone had the transmission out of the car and didn't mark left and right. Hope this helps someone else save a lot of time and money.

did the converter have to be replaced or was it repairable?
