Land Rover Lucas wiper motor problems and fix!

Land Rover Lucas wiper motor problems and fix!

Well this turned out to be an epic video!
The Chinese park switches are feeble and not well made
Combined with the casting for the motor was not quite right, this job just dragged on and on
Anyway, everything works now as it should and will give years of trouble free wiping!

Hey mike, I have a wiper issue.the intermittent setting doesn't work, the washer, park ,slow and fast work just fine, I have no movement at all when I set the wipers to intermittent ?, I was told there is no relay for this?, 1997 NAS defender ?, before I pull dash apart could this be a limit switch problem or a wiring problem at the wiper control?
Thanks for vids and help I like to have a game plan in place before I start!

BADCOPSHOW says:

really enjoyed this video, but you never did explain how the arm fitted inside to the rotor.

This is one of the problems with doing repairs for other people. How can you possibly charge a customer 7.5 hours for changing a wiper motor? ok let's knock off an hour for moving the camera about etc. and 30 mins for lunch, that's still 6 hours. You are lucky that you have the video evidence, most workshops don't.

OEM Lucas was hardly the last word in quality even in the day and now the Chinese are copying it. Making for some very fustrated owners. I have had problems with Chinese lift pumps.

Chazni Bond says:

I replaced my park switch last week. It lasted one day. Total rubbish. It came in a blue bag. Luckily I can get to it quickly in my 110.
Great video again Mike!
