I bought a fiat punto yesterday, and realised there was nothing but cold air coming out when heat turned high, i thought ‘oh no, the head gasket gone’. But low and behold the heater matrix has been bypassed. Glad i found this video, And deff going to do it. But when you take the 2 pipes apart , it’s not going to gush anti freeze everywhere is it? Thanks.

dirtycyles says:

You can do this by undoing the screws in the center console, sliding it back, undoing the rings, and sliding the heater core out.

Interesting,….

Land Rover Toolbox Videos says:

The heater matrix has 2 rubber o rings on the side which allow the pipes to be connected at 90 degrees… these can leak. I would not advise to use a quick fix leak because the solution can clog up the cooling system. Solutions like this can clog the radiator especially if it is old..The 300tdi and 200tdi engines have small water ways in the head gasket and can become blocked causing problems later. (I have seen this happen). Cheap fixes can become expensive later.. Get it fixed !!!
