Land Rover Discovery 2 /Coil Spring Lift Blocks Install(DIY)

Hey everyone in this video I install front and rear lift blocks under the factory coil springs. The blocks are the Atlantic British 1 inch lift blocks that I got used off EBAY. They aren’t that expensive but they were out of stock when I found these. I had to buy the bolts at a hardware store but if you picked them up new they come with the bolts. They are actually at least an inch and a half tall. The rear spacers are easier to do than the front. I jacked up the rear axle and removed the tire. I removed the brake caliper. Then I took another jack and raised the body of the vehicle up so I could easily remove the lower shock bolt. After that I lowered the axle as far as it would go and raised the body higher to remove the coil spring. I removed the factory bolts from the coil spring mount and placed the spacer under the mount and reinstalled the longer bolts. I used a spring compressor to be able to reinsert the spring and put everything back reversing the steps. The front is similar but the caliper doesn’t need to be removed and a bottle jack has to be added between the frame and axle to be able to remove the spring. The shock and shock tower have to be completely removed and I suggest facing the tower the other direction for easier bolt removal when it is reinstalled. A spring compressor is a must to do this job. When I installed the second front spacer I realized I could slide the block in without removing the spring just lifting up on the spring after i got the bottle jack in. I thought I could do this in 4 hours but it took me 7 lol. Maybe I’m getting old. I hope this video helps. Thanks for watching!

It freaked me out when you were under there because my overly active imagination just kept thinking I'd be crushed if I did that. LOL
