I Bought A Cheap Land Rover LR4

I Bought A Cheap Land Rover LR4

This 2016 Land Rover LR4 (~$30,000 CAD) is our newest addition to the Throttle House garage as a camera and crew car. We had very specific needs for a camera car, and the LR4 looks to be the solution to many challenges we face. However Land Rovers of the era aren’t necessarily known for their reliability, so we are hoping for a smooth and trouble-free ownership experience. Thomas and James are excited to share their thoughts on their latest purchase. How does the LR4 stack up as a luxury off-roader? And how is it to daily drive? We hope you enjoy the episode. And then subscribe, silly.

Because of the implication..

@DirtE30 says:

So what you really needed, and it wouldn’t make good videos obviously, was a 4runner. Lol

@rydinorwin says:

How many 'tubes exist in the LR4……Its pretty well done/1 enjoyed it.

@MysteicVoltronus says:

Are we going to start a pool of how long the LR4 goes before it completed tanks? I vote 3 months.

@matthewanderson6423 says:

Thomas can talk himself in to anything.

@somecarnet says:

The best thing about an LR is that they put the most advanced 4WD system in the world on a very solid frame, only to have it stuck in the air at the mechanics.

@xelawash says:

One word describes this video. BRILLIANT!

@WTFNoNamesLeft2 says:

So this will be the last TH video… bummer.

@tarasgrosh8751 says:

The more people bag on it, the more I love Range Rover. Not sure why, but it has that charm and personality unless it leaves, you stranded in the desert.

@user-tj1wd3ur1u says:

They fixed the V8s timing chain issue for 2013, making it the best year of the LR4

@ickna2002 says:

Should have got the LR3/discovery 3 with the 4.4 V8.

@delaneywaltman says:

It has a 2013 f150 steering wheel. Fancy!

@bonbonjovi4836 says:

Engineer: Sir, this car isn't ready to be released, it breaks down every 1,000 miles
CEO: Not a problem, just put a Range Rover badge on it, and some leather seat and people will buy
Engineer: But sir, people will be left stranded and it will give our brand a bad reputation
CEO: HAHAHAHA, you want to build a reliable car? Go work at Toyota

@yorelescovar2716 says:

Well the discovery 4 sold in Panamá has a diesel engine which it is pretty reliable and durable… like 300k km still going … and it came with more off-road goodies

@leeterwilliger2303 says:

Don't those weigh more than the bigger range rover?

@stevebeck9470 says:

Land Rover's most reliable years ! like saying the least dangerous serial killer !

@sonnyp1573 says:

I mean I would have went 1st gen 2004 -2006 Sequoia LTD….. but I don't think there's enough trunk space after the 3rd row is in.

@ailestriker9888 says:

I really thought the Emira was coming

@mikelucas5845 says:

Ah yes launching into a new parallel reality of knowing your mechanic on a first name basis.
