generally about how much does the tie rod removal tool cost?
I bought it at Princess Auto in Canada – it was $25 there. It was well
worth it Creg as I use it to release ball joints also
Thank you!! I watched this a bit too late. I was replacing bearings on my
’97 Od. and ruined the lower ball joint. I don’t have somewhere where I can
take it to get it pressed out. Left it for the night going to try again
tomorrow. Thank for being thorough.
I want Books Automotive Engineering Training?
I wrote automotive engineering training?
@backyardmech Thanks, I already have a Haynes manual, but it’s instructions
on removing the steering knuckle are a bit vague. This video helped
immensely though. Thanks again!
The ball joint was the problem I discuss in this video – no more creaking
noises when I make a turn.
Sydney – you ?
At some points in the video you have a very thick Irish accent…lol
@TomTom212324 True enough Tom – the Haynes manuals are great but I have
noticed they sometimes recommend removing parts that don’t have to be taken
off for some jobs
That’s cool. Its just funny cause sometimes you sound like a good ol’
country boy(like myself)and then right over to a thick accent. Pretty cool
😛 lol
I’m from Nova Scotia, Canada Robb. A large part of the population here have
Scottish ancestors (myself included). So the accent may be similiar to an
Irish accent.
Hey, I’ve got to replace the steering knuckle and wheel bearings on my
Mustang, will I have to worry about the strut springs when I take the
steering knuckle off?
@MrBlueball84 Nice to know it helped MrBlue – thanks.
Thanks Slpthe bull and good luck with that ball joint.
@TomTom212324 I’m not sure about on a Mustang Tom. I doubt you would have
to remove the strut to change the wheel bearing or knuckle. I’d advise
buying a Haynes or Chilton manual to be sure. They’re about $30 in Canada.
Sounds like you’re doing some relatively involved work on that Stang –
it’ll be worth the money. Remember not to trust you’re jack – wooden blocks
and jack stands as back ups when you’re working – good luck!
that’s a coincidence me to!
what part of nova scotia are you from
Or a Chilton or Haynes manual for yoor particular vehicle Ali
