How to Fix a Squeaky Clutch Pedal on Land Rover Defender 90 110 XS Utility – Stop Creaking/Squeaking

If your Land Rover Defender Puma or TD5 clutch pedal is squeaking or creaking even after you’ve greased it and used WD40 then try this instead to help stop your Defender clutch constantly squeaking when its pressed down. It’s often not the clutch pedal or the clutch spring inside the footwell, it’s the clutch linkage box located inside the engine bay. This short video shows you how to locate that linkage box and where to apply the grease to fix your Defender squeaking clutch once and for all!

My clutch pedal was squealing like a stuck pig! Now silent as a mouse. Many thanks for the tip. I do however think wd40 is a very light oil that will not last long. But it is great at getting into all the crevices. Next time I shall try an oil and see how that goes. Problem is where to put it. The wd40 spray was applied very generically.

I’ve done the WD40 trick and it works but it’s only short term. Six months later I had to do it again. Try using grease, bit harder to apply but lasts longer and doesn’t drip on your shoes.

Chase the squeak – love it!!!

I’ve got heated seat and windscreen wash gremlins at the moment – there’s always something lol!
