@Abasuto. I would look and see how (previous) owner has taken care of it, I
bought an 2003 LR2 and it has 137k miles, (bought it with 130K) and haven’t
have an issue with it. I have driven it to Tennessee and back (905 miles
trip there, and 905 back) LR are known for not being very trust worthy due
to BMW being owners. I am about to sell my LR2 to upgrade to the LR3, and
if i was you I would look somewhere else on buying an LR as long as owners
keep up on pretty basic maintenance it will last, but got to remember they
are LUXURY cars, not a Toyota, if you search any Luxury brand, Cadillac,
Lincoln, Mercedes, they all have issues. Just do your homework and don’t
jump on the first one you see.

Tod Lindley says:

I beg to differ regarding reliability improving, I’ve just been quoted from
a Genuine LR Dealer £795.00 to have the 3 Belts (Timing, Fuel pump and some
other belt)changed including a service and by the sounds of it the air
suspension is still no better than when fitted to the Range Rover Classic
so I can only conclude that todays LR Quality is pretty piss poor, I give
in!, What is LR playing at?? the RELIABLE tech IS available as used on
Commercial Trucks but LR seem to insist on making unreliable high
maintenance vehicles which is far from what they used to do, I used to run
Range Rover Classics with very few if any reliability issues and they
missed services but guess what, they didn’t have 3 friggin belts to change
at £795.00, PUDDLED

This car works well when it’s working well…. the problem is that it’s too
‘high strung’. Always something going wrong with the electronics or
suspension or doors…. way too many problems. I would NOT recommend buying
a Land Rover. You’ll spend THOUSANDS fixing it.

Only 3 main problems??? Have a look at Landroverhell, com

Qiang Gao says:

my car got all of the problems

Mugwump Kwingwaage says:

people need to do more research on the cars they buy

Coordinator61 says:

Buy a Land-Cruiser.

bmwmsport11 says:

Toyota Land Cruiser anyone lol. Do you know anything about the lr4? Range
rover/ ranger rover sport? I though most of these problem were caused by
the fact that the vehicle weighed so much, putting more strain on the
components. But from watching this video, seems more like cheap
engineering/quality…

Akhil Woods says:

you forgot air supension

Freddy Granados says:

How are these with tray problems??

jeffrey salas says:

hello sir, can u help me to give me idea about my land rover 1999 model
when i press acelerator the engine is cut off..and thers no engine power
also..my fuel pump its new..

Ali Adawi says:

i like that video. can you provid me with video for how to replace fuel
pump?

Abasuto says:

The huge question to me is…how’s the reliability on the engine and
transmission ? The 3 issues you just named don’t honestly seem like a huge
issue. I’ve just heard countless reports that land rover engines and
transmissions are prone to very early failure. Both of which are insanely
expensive repairs. There’s a D2 LR sitting for sale near my house with a
bad transmission. The guy is almost giving it away because he said the
transmission repair cost more than the entire car is worth.

SuperMike says:

yes, the second problem is true…my old and gone 2005 LR3 had it occur
around 41k mikes.

WarthogD21 says:

I love my D2 but the only reason I can drive it is because I’m a decent
mechanic and do most of the labor myself. Every 3 months is a new
challenge. I love it but the newer Land Rovers are much more complicated
and getting less utilitarian. Not a vehicle for someone that doesn’t like
grease and grime.

ryan martin says:

could you maybe tell me why sometimes my car reads really high fuel economy
e.g 99l per 100 km

Coordinator61 says:

Then a Land Rover will empty your bank account. I work in the oil/gas
industry, only Toyota LC-Hilux will do in the desert. They do not break
down. Land Rovers are not bad designed cars, they are just not well build.
That counts 800 km into the desert.

silverado530 says:

Is that a ford??! Well no wonder is full of trouble
