2019 Land Rover Discovery Sport Service Item; How To Do It Yourself

In this video we are carrying out a full service on a 2019 Land Rover Discovery Sport. We’ll be showing step by step how to replace all maintenance items on this vehicle, which includes an oil/filter change, air filter, canon filter and a fuel filter.

For this vehicle it is all quite simple and a chance for you to gain knowledge, experience and to do it yourself to save you money. Just as importantly it is an opportunity to get to know your way around this vehicles engine.

We will also address a couple of issues that I found during the service inspection, which will be addressed in another video.

Tools at the ready, let’s show you how it’s done.

Raj Mann says:

Hi can you do a video for Differential oil change pls .

Videotree says:

I have a disco sport 2018 diesel
I have warning of water in fuel and restricted performance

Any suggestions.

Danny Moorhouse says:

I had mine serviced and bought the service pack from land rover so the warranty was still valid ….. however they refused to sell me the oil , an argument later I got the oil, £600 quid for a service is a disgrace

AIB01 says:

Now let me think…. that's a lady's car.

Nick 2506 says:

Hi. Great video, you have a new subscriber. Nice to see you do not skimp on filter quality and use Mann. I believe this engine can suffer from fuel dilution of the oil. People must realise just how important an oil change is.

THE TRIDENTCLUB says:

Thanks very good instructions. The disco Facebook massive will argue that you should always take the car to a JLR dealer to service. Having serviced numerous cars I trust myself over the techs at JLR. This is perfect to explain the methods. Shame I can’t add to the on line service records.

Josh Gustafson says:

Just bought a 2019 Sport HSE with 28k miles. Leased prior to me, serviced regularly. Any suggestions prior to driving on 1000 + mile road trip?

george stronach says:

What size of oil filter cap do you need

Silver Chief says:

Looks like another satisfied customer punched him out after the last oil service performed was 1/10th quart low…The demanding landy owner knows no boundaries.

firat yaman says:

hello, nice video, I bought the new evoque P160 automatic model in 2021, it is a comfortable vehicle in general, but the land Rover group has put the air conditioner filter in a very problematic area for some reason, which means that the filter is damaged in the filter change, and also when you drive without air conditioning in the summer, the vehicle takes the engine temperature inside. Also a bug I hope land Rover is aware of it @landrover

Oliver Reilly says:

Just done this myself! I’ll add 2 things.

First, it’s easier to remove the air box completely if your screws are rusted. The added advantage of doing this is that you don’t need to grab a hoover – just tip the leaves and rubbish out. Secondly, be ultra careful with the earth strap on the fuel filter. It’s so delicate. Mine snapped at the spade connector – it’s less than 1mm thick. You can always put a new connector on but it’s a real pain when you’re doing the job.

Great video though and thanks for the insight!

John Macdiarmid says:

Great, you have completely taken the mystery out of the job. My query was the service warning light but I see you have answered the question earlier. Great Video.
