If your Land Rover has this tube in the oil filler hole, Land Rover teaches its technicians that 1 liter MORE oil can be removed by sucking out the oil out of this tube rather than opening the drain plug. I use a $20 Canadian Fluid Pump been doing this way for years on my Mercedes and Land Rovers with the tube. Remember oil has to be warm 🙂

How come.. Do you see a technical explanation for it? Because logically the lowest point of oil pan + gravity = full oil out
