2012 Kia Optima hybrid. Love my baby. Was driving on highway then car started slowing down wouldn’t accelerate past 60. I managed to get to the side when oil pressure light came on and engine seized. The most bizzare thing. I’ve never had an issue like this before it was quick and there was no prior symptoms

I have a 2016 Kia Sorento that never burned oil until like 85K. I took it to Kia for an oil consumption test around 92K. They said it passed after that it burnt like 1/2 of a quart before the next change. Now i am on the second oil change after the test and I put 3-1/2 quarts in it. I brought it back to do another test and they said its not covered under warranty because i have 104K now. I thought the suit extended the warranty after they installed the knock sensor………..they say that's not the case. I think its bull but what can I do? I love the car but Kia has failed in this deal!

Kimberly Johnson says:

I own a 2016 Kia Sorento. My son was driving it when it died last week. It was towed to the dealership. I was later told that the engine would be replaced for free as part of a recall. The. I was told I needed to pay $1580.00 to replace the hoses and belts and the 3 engine mounts. I’ve reached out to Kia because I don’t think I should have to pay for this since their engine is the issue.

They rebuild your engine with a remanufactured longblock.Longstocking. It's not a new engine.

My engine blew (luckily just 5 mins from home), I took it to KIA in Manchester, MO on Monday, and now just four days later, the engine is replaced, for free!

My 2012 KIA Sportage (75K) just had a major engine during an out of state road trip, a rod broke and perforated the crank. I am trying to find out how to get the Engine warranty from KIA, but so far it has been hours and hours on the phone a no answer. Any help is appreciated.
