PROOF KIA & HYUNDAI CAN DENY YOUR ENGINE REPLACEMENT FOR NOT HAVING THE KSDS INSTALLED #kia #hyundai

PROOF KIA & HYUNDAI CAN DENY YOUR ENGINE REPLACEMENT FOR NOT HAVING THE KSDS INSTALLED #kia #hyundai

In this video I show proof that KIA/Hyundai can deny your engine replacement for not having the Knock Sensor Detection Software aka KSDS on your car.

The warranty extension may be denied for “Exceptional Neglect” of the vehicle, which means (a) when the vehicle clearly evidences a lack of maintenance or care for a significant period of time of not less than one (1) year, such that the vehicle appears dilapidated, abandoned, and/or beyond repair unless such lack of maintenance was due to a Loss Event, as defined in the Settlement Agreement; or (b) where a Class member has failed to have the KSDS (“Knock Sensor Detection Software”) installed in the vehicle pursuant to the KSDS Product Improvement Campaign by a Kia dealer.

FROM KIA: IMPORTANT
Continue to follow the maintenance schedule outlined in Section 7 (Maintenance) of your
vehicle’s Owner’s Manual. Keep copies of your receipts/repair orders to show compliance with the
vehicle’s maintenance schedule.

WARNING:
o If you ignore the blinking MIL and continue to drive your vehicle in Limp Home Mode for
an extended number of miles, your vehicle may eventually experience severe engine
damage and stall.
o The Kia service technician will be able to read how long you have driven your vehicle after the KSDS
is activated.
o It is important that you understand that an abusive failure to take the vehicle to a Kia dealer after
KSDS activation may void the lifetime warranty KMA is providing with completion of this Product
Improvement Campaign.

The KSDS will Not prevent Engine damage, Once detected the damages done so what's the point ?

BARBARA b says:

ihave a 2015 kia forte …. same problem need to fix

Kenneth Johnson says:

how do i contact you? thanks, ken

9upreme says:

I'm currently going through this… been renting a car and my dealer is still asking for payments, threatening repo… I don't know wtf to do.

Michelle Davis says:

I have had 3 engines and today I took it in again! I do have the KSDS. Just waiting to hear back from the dealership.

Janae2300 says:

I purchased a 2016 Kia optima was not notified at the time of purchase of the 1326 check engine failure. I've been told by Kia I would need to agree to have my engine broken down and if it's determined that the p1326 error isn't due to the engine I'll be responsible for the takedown and repair of the engine. I was not notified by Kia or the dealership CarMax about this issue nor was it on the car fax report. My car only had 50,000 miles at the time of purchase and I only added 8,000 miles. I told CarMax, AKA (Lemon Max)the power system of the car need to be checked because I noticed I kept being shocked by the car whenever I touched it whether it was day or night. Additionally, the AC is adapter was not working in the electrical system on my stereo kept going in and out. Both Kia and Lemon Max are trying to put the responsibilities of the car on me. I was not give that letter from Kia regarding the car failures. One of the representatives from Kia basically admitted that they're trying to put the responsibility on me and they told her to tell me drive the car until it dies. The car has been in and out of the shop since purchasing and today make 1 year of having the car. It's only had two other owners before me and this was the selling point for me including the low mileage. Had I know about the engine failure I definitely wouldn't have bought the car!

Diva Reisman says:

Has anyone not have a ksds update and still gotten their engine reimbursed?

Alan Scobie says:

Kia's and Hyundai's are cheap. People need to wake up and stop buying them. They are junk. Insurance companies should stop insuring them until they can make a better vehicle.

TLynn725 says:

So I bought my 2017 Hyundai sonata sport 2.4 liter engine 1 1/2 yrs ago so I don't know if this ksds was done or not? I have been buying about a quart of oil a week & went to dealership last week. All of a sudden I'm not burning oil like I was & they said they need to get approval to do a test for oil consumption. If if gets approved & oil is burning I get a new engine. But it's now been a week & haven't heard from them. I'm calling today to ask what's up. But this is same dealership I bought cpo car from & they have done nothing but fine me run around for multiple issues I've had with cat since I bought it. Anyone have any ideas if this is legal what they are doing? They told me they did nothing to the car but how the heck did I go from burning a quart of oil a week to barely anything this past week? Like come on now?!?

D RS says:

Hey Carl! Thank you so much for this video. As my Kia 2015 Kia Optima engine died on me and my wife while driving. The entire car shut down. Made a loud noise and everything stopped. My Kia has 148K miles on it. I wasn’t aware of the KSDS update at all never received any paperwork or emails. I took it to Kia dealership to find out that the engine has a recall and I didn’t get the KSDS update, so I was denied! I am extremely upset at myself and this situation. I am the only owner of this car purchased it 15 Miles on it and here I am 7.5 years later and I have car that needs a engine that will cost $4500 before taxes. I am unsure of my next move but I am currently reaching out to other dealerships and still no luck. I believe I am too late to the awareness of issue. I have contacted corporate to see if anything can be done and it is a 6 week wait on results. Wish me luck! And I wanted to share my story to all Kia owners! This video is true and very helpful.

Caleb Tshik says:

It goes beyond that. My 2014 Sonata have the KSDS and they still declined responsibility citing that the car was branded salvaged before though it was simply rear-ended and a TX rebuilt title was issued.

Sabastian Edwards says:

I have the ksds update my engine just went out does it matter If your heads gone

Sabastian Edwards says:

Hey so my mechanic say your engine going out but it may be due to bad gas I have the knock knock update

Tyler Joseph says:

Just bought a 2012 Hyundai Sonata out of auction and didn't do much research after the Hyundai I called said they would replace it before I even bought the car. Got it out of auction at around 3k its a 2012 with 149k. Get a call from Hyundai a week or so later (today) and the denied me over the ksds update. The first service manger I talked to said they would do it before I bought it. The i got a call from a different one after I dropped it off and they said take a hike. Worth it to fix it and hope to still make money? Or should I call every dealer possible till one says yes lol

Juan Carlos Paguaga says:

Hey Carl. Thanks for this video. It’s been hell for me the last week. I have a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe with 98k Miles. Had the engine replaced at the dealer at 80k miles and now having engine problems again; it is making a loud noise. The dealer is refusing to repair/replace stating that Hyundai does not feel that anything is needed at this point. They want me to take it back and let them know until it fails completely, then they will replace it under a lifetime warranty. I am not sure if the current engine’s warranty will expire at 100k miles. I took it to the dealer last year for a complete check up and paid $3k for all the work done, which was not engine related, but I am not sure if they did the KSDS update. I also did not take part on the class action suit. What are your thoughts?

Kim H says:

How do I find out if ksds was done ?

Jim De Fazio says:

Carl, so does this issue (engine failure/class action) NOT show up on a Carfax report? We're looking at a 2014 Sorrento, 4cyl, and there's one open recall for HECU unit causing a short. But that's the only issue on the Carfax. Is this outside of those reports? And can I confirm by VIN whether this car has one of the affected engines? Or is it ALL 2.4L 4cyl. engines?

Joe Smith says:

I have a 2016 kia sorento lx and has a rod knock I think so how do I check if it has the ksds knock sensor?I checked a website it says no open campaigns does that mean it has it on it?

Jocelyn says:

Hello I hope you see this message! I have a 2015 kia optima hybrid. My kia has been giving me so much trouble. In 2018 I was driving on the freeway and my car shut down out of no where. They told me mice ate all the wiring that caused everything to fry including the transmission and computer. Today driving on the freeway it gave me a very quick check hybrid system again. It flashed quickly and went away. On my way back home my car wasn't accelerating, I was going 60 and it wouldn't go anymore. It felt like my car was stalling and it was going to shut down. I made it home luckily! Any advice on what dealership i can go to to get my engine replaced? I'm near Palmdale, California. Thank you for all your info

Brooklyn Joe says:

Hi, I have a 2013 Hyundai Tuscon currently at the dealer for the replacement engine…It's unreal…I'm told it could be months before they get it in …..

IronKamikaze 5150 says:

I live in California and the car burns so much oil it clogged the cat. Now cat outta warranty.

godzilla of the world says:

I received a recall letter from KIA then brought my car to a dealership and they updated the KSDS then after 1200Km the engine failed and KIA denied me the warranty.

Calicol 29 says:

How do I know if I have the ksds installed in my Kia Optima 2016? My engine is about to go, cause it burns way too much oil to the point where it doesn’t make it to the next oil change without putting some oil before the oil change. I went to 2 Kia dealers and explained the problem and they said that I have to let the oil run out, wait for the the knocking sound on the engine, and the check engine light, take it to the dealer and get the engine fix
