No replacement – opening and fixing the Variable Charge Motion Controller VCM – the issue was the link arms got slightly stuck. Also showing access, how to remove the cover, the plastic gears inside that may be stripped (damaged) if the VCM makes a pronounced clicking noise, the location of the securing C metal clip and plastic links to the intake manifold, part number. VCM issues will also cause loss in GDI engine torque – my engine had more torque after the VCM fix.

The two top white plastic gears slide just off their small shafts and if damaged can be replaced individually with used ones – may buy a used VCM from Ebay or get one from junkyards and simply just swap the damaged plastic gears. To remove the 3rd bottom plastic gear you may need to remove first the outer metal arm fixed to it – it's has a small C clip.
