I wanted to say thank you for posting this. I just used the same approach
to fix my 2011 Kia Soul. I also wanted to add that it was worth it to me to
drain the whole reservoir so I could take my time cleaning the screen on
the pump. I had gelatin-like buildup on both sides of the screen, so I
needed to pop it out and run it under some hot water.
