How To Change 2009 – 2013 Kia Soul Map Light Bulbs – Remove Replace Reading Lights Bulb

A quick video tutorial on how to change the map light bulbs in a 2009 – 2013 Kia Soul.

The Kia Soul owners manual contains the following information on the map / reading lights:
Push the lens to turn the map lamp on or off. This light produces a spot beam for convenient use as a map lamp at night or as a personal lamp for the driver and the front passenger.

In order to remove / replace the map light bulb you should:
1. Using a flat-blade screwdriver or trim tool, gently pry the lens from the interior lamp housing.
2. Remove the map light bulb by pulling it straight out.
3. Install a new light bulb in the socket.
4. Align the lens tabs with the interior lamp housing notches and snap
the map light lens into place

Hi . One of mine are not working when the door is opened but it still works when you press the light . I'm flummoxed and can't think of what the problem could be . The switch must be working and the bulb is working so why's it not working when I open the door the other light is okay and works from both door and light push. Thanks for any advice.
