Over the years the technology with all the computer gadgets are top notch in vehicles, while the engines have become nothing but poor quality built rolling pieces of dangerous crap and unsafe. The bigger picture in the future we won’t have many mechanics who know how to fix anything. All younger people are pushed to technology jobs, because working on cars is beneath them. I keep hearing and I have experienced BAD GAS at certain stations. I believe the government will be making more bad gas and oil out there for consumers to ruin their cars and HAVE to buy an electric car.
Build in Montgomery Alabama. Just ask a worker there how they feel about Koreans… will give you an indication
Korean Kias are excellent, we love them in latin america, American Kias are crap.
Personally I consider Kia and Hyundai middle of the road. Not the best not the worst. I'd rather have them than an Italian or French car, and some American ones to be honest.
I know someone that bought a 2018 Kia Forte NEW and the engine blew up. It was replaced under warranty and THAT ONE also blew up, but now the car is out of warranty so they won't fix it.
Making cars isn't easy. If you are going to make a car,why wouldn't you make it the best you can,and fix all the problems before it leaves the factory ?

My mother’s had one for at least 10 years. So far it is not had any problems. She has a lifetime warranty not much else to say.

YEP…. i left tech work behind in 2011 because the dealership was more interested in selling a new car to someone who brought their vehicles in for larger ticket items. Instead of paying out $1000-1500 for a repair, they'd tell them "use that for a down payment and getcha a new one!" well that screwed us out of work and we'd get a 1/2 hour checkout time to diag the vehicle. They'd take the vehicle in on trade but sell it to a wholesaler instead of fixing it and putting it on the lot. Oddly enough, i was a Kia master tech when i left and i can agree, Kia quality had dropped a ton even up until 2011. The older Kias (sephia, spectra, sportage….) they weren't great vehicles but they were pretty easy to repair and didn't cost a ton to fix. Properly maintained like any other vehicle, they would last for many years and many 100ks of miles. The new Kias I haven't had anything to do with but I have friends at the dlr that have stated their quality has tanked. I'm glad i'm out of it, i wouldn't want to be associated with any company that refuses to fix things. I'd bet money they know what is causing all the fires but won't repair them because it is too costly. I've seen it before with Kia when the spectra auto transmissions kept dropping out. They would replace under warranty then send the old units to be rebuilt for the next guy… but instead of figuring out why they were failing, they wouldn't pay for the techs to tear them down and fix, only swap with another trans unit. i put 3 trans assemblies in one guys car before his warranty ran out and he moved on to another vehicle, not another kia for sure.
