Did you make the can yourself or did you buy one like that?
@fondupot i was wanting to do something similar on my forte. any ideas?
Ikno this is late but you may have done this for nothing, modern gdi has
been made to avoid the clogging issue
Dude, just plumb a $6.00 3/8″ od clear fuel filter in the line and then
clean in out with gumout every 6000 miles. Replace it every 24 k miles. It
keeps the oil out of the intake and the solid oils drain back to the pan.
Cheap and simple, right? Why would you want to ‘collect’ oil, you just want
to stop it from getting into the intake manifold. Catch can is fine on a
race car that gets torn down periodicly, but unnecessary on a street car.
And that’s why I empty nearly 4-5 tablespoons of blow-by oil in the can
every oil change? This is not to prevent clogging. It’s to prevent blow-by
oil into the intake.
you know a lot man, so quick question.. i got a boost gauge but i have no
idea where to hook the boost line up to because i see a lot of optima
owners who do and get 19psi which is wrong because i get 12 psi max on my
android app torque, any recomendations?
@fantalon2 I bought it from UPR racing. It was for a different vehicle but
I just bought new barbs to make it work with this one.
@fondupot 2010 Forte EX 2.0Liter L4 engine and i was looking for a carbon
fiber one
@fantalon2 What year Forte and what engine? All you have to do it plumb a
catch can in line with the PCV line. Shouldnt be too hard. You can get
generic cans on ebay.
Honestly I do not know anything about boost gauges. Sorry man. head over to
optimaforums website and ask over there. I am a member, its a great site
for optima enthusiasts.
