2003-2006 Kia Sorento Spark Plug And Valve Cover Gasket Replacement Part 1 Step-By-Step Walkthrough

2003-2006 Kia Sorento Spark Plug And Valve Cover Gasket Replacement Part 1 Step-By-Step Walkthrough

this is Part 1 out of a 3 part series. I would recommend replacing the rear heater hoses, pcv vavle, spark plugs and valve cover gaskets. I did not Replace any of the intake gaskets they are made out of metal so I re-used my old ones and so far no issues. I would also change the factory clamps and use the screw type. Other than that just replace the coolant that was lost. please remember to like, comment and subscribe. Thanks for watching 👍

Stay tuned for part #2…

I am in agreement with those who say this vehicle is just ridiculous to work on! Worse than FORD believe it or not.

So would you have to remove all that just to get to the coils on the driver side?

Steven Hall says:

Thanks for the video, been looking at picking up one of these, you just helped me make up my mind to never do that.

I had the same engine misfire code show up for my 2004 Kia sorento. Would I be able to just replace the engine coil instead of all the spark plugs?

Po Tato says:

Any idea where the original ground from the block to chassis goes? This 2 part series is amazing.

Superman says:

How much would you charge for labor on this job? Awesome work, thanks for video!

Gary Smith says:

I’m getting P0350 “ignition coil primary/secondary circuit “ and P0300 “Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected “ I have a misfire/ignition control module on order (thing your removing at 12:00) as this seems to be a common sensor to fail, but now with the misfires I’m wondering if the coils or leads might have to replaced. Does anyone know the cause of these codes? I had it in to the mechanic and he blamed E10 and changed the plugs but $600 later I had check engine light on 10sec after leaving. I’m just not positive on leads or coils as it is misfiring on all cylinders. I should also mention when the misfires happens the tacho stops working, as soon as the tacho starts working again the engine runs fine. Seems to work ok on first start in morning but after about 10-15min I get tacho/misfires.. any help appreciated.

Can you make a list in description of all the parts we should buy for this job? Wondering if I need to buy knew intake gaskets?

Toxic Few says:

Excellent video! Thanks for posting. I wondered why the garage said they wanted $400 labor to replace just the spark plugs! I now understand why. This is just a time intensive job, but your excellent step by step and the tips you've added will make this cake! Thanks again and please keep making the vids.

Eric Parrish says:

Dude your never going to make it in a flat-rate shop with all that unnecessary disassembly for nothing

Fossil TV says:

OMG! You almost have to dismantle the entire engine to get your plugs. What happened to popping the hood and woola, there is the plugs sitting right in front of you on top of the engine? To much small parts I might lose while getting the plugs. After watching this video I am a little nervous even attempting it.
