Slick Rick says:

I do not like that bracket between the glass and the hard top.

George Georgiades says:

Anyone know if this hoist is still available for purchase?

Jeff Lewman says:

I have sold and installed several of these units, definitely the best on
the market. The rear metal tray holds the bulk of the weight, and does it
well. The strap only holds about 25 lbs on each side and is rated at 1200
lbs tensile strength. It is more than sufficient. Looks like Bruce and
James Motor Sports are unfortunately no longer around but I will provide
any support and information for these lifts anyone may have. Contact Jeff
at 918-214-4991 if you have any questions.

Arsenake says:

I think some of the DIYs are much better setup

Tim Pietzsch says:

Man, I really like this. Clean, straight forward and not a million anchor
points and cables running down the walls etc. Some of the kits that do this
job just look horrible. From the video it appears this system makes the job
not only convenient but easy breezy as well. I talked to Bruce and the
price point may price me out but as it goes you get what you pay for. A
quality lift system for sure. I’ll let you know if I break down….;-)

I could have dropped my soft top and put it back up by myself in the time
you were climbing ladders and placing straps. Not including removal of all
the bolts for the hardtop

scotch123bright says:

hey man if you can’t afford a hard top. its nbd.

TheKrasnaludek says:

Please do not use these hoists people; no matter how strong you THINK
mounting to studs or headers may be – the straps are prone to failure.
We’ve had enough Jeepers see their top come crashing down on a vehicle or
the fgarage floor to learn this. What if you have kids and they bump this
to where it falls? Far safer bet to get a cart and safely store on the side
of the house; these hoists are a disaster waiting to happen.

Arsenake says:

so you need a ladder every time you want to lower/raise it?

Tim Pietzsch says:

Alright Dan, I broke down and went for it. I’m hoping to get time to
install it soon. For my specific application and personality I think it’s
going to work out just fine.

Daniel Anderson says:

Respectfully the top is NOT held up by the straps but by the metal foot
plate that goes in the back window. That is bolted securely to the winch.
The straps have almost no tension on them if installed correctly. I hope
that helps. Contact the manufacturer if you have further questions. Dan

Dondy Colsio says:

thank you you have a sweet looking garage and a nice classic.
