Jeff Sapp says:

Dude, my pinion bearings are crunched. Got the carrier assembly out just
fine. Pinion is all jammed up, I’ve hammered on it and it wont come out of
there. I even got “violent”. What do I do?

BuddyLe3 says:

If you are doing a pinion, pinion bearing and bearing race replacement on
stock gearing, is it necessary to check the backlash and adjust shims or
should everything go right back to where they were. I would assume that it
wouldn’t hurt to double check due to such tight tolerances and
expansion/contraction due to heat, but thought I would get your input beings
that I haven’t taken on this project yet. My 99 XJ has a loose pinion and
was gonna replace it, but wanted to know what kind of a shit show I’m
getting into. Thanks for the videos Jerry.

Johnny Banks says:

I’m doing a pinion bearing replacement on a f250 with a dana 60 front end.
Is there anyway to remove the pinion without removing the diff?

Nice Job! Did a 4.56 regear on the LJ with 33’s, what a difference. If
your ever in the Colorado Rockies I’ll buy you a beer and thanks for the
support!
