That stupid transmission fitting has made me lose my mind. Jeep would love
to sell me $170 lines, of course. And mine rusted near the fitting. What a
bunch of thieves at the dealerships.
IfI find a fingerprint on my tool box that doesn’t match mine, I will check
yours from this video to see if it matches. Everything is blurring, I must
need to go to the doctors again. Better the camera than the eye, but like
me, I am sure you have already done that more than once. You just need a
lift like 63Impala has.
Hey bud, I put my oil pan back on and i fired her up, and it started
leaking from the front of the engine, where the crank pulley is… the
gasket seems to have an overhang in this area that hangs out of the front
of the oil pan. What did i do wrong? Maybe the gasket is not seated
properly? Can i adjust it and use the same gasket or do i need to buy
another?
@STREAKER123 if you want to remove the piston/connecting rod assy you will
need to pull off the cylinder head off the top of the motor, they need to
come out through the top,,its a big job and you need to work real clean,
good luck,
So how hard is it to get the pistons out from here? I know to tap them out.
Have the valve cover off and am taking the oil pan off soon. It was
knocking.
your going to have to take it back apart, then you should see what failed,
I seem to remember having to fill two voids with sealent, but it may have
been by the trans side, the gasket could be ok but again you will find out
when you remove it,,,let us know how you make out,,
Nice trick with the box. I’ll have to file that one away.

is this yours or someone elses
I know tap them out with wood. But how do I disconnect my rocker arms from
what they are holding onto? I’ll recheck the repair book.

That Jeep is going to be in a beautiful shape by the time you get it done.

@gregmporter thanks
Why did you get involved with the bearing? I have a leak in the same spot
and I’m assuming it’s just the oil pan gasket. Am I wrong?
