Good vid. Just a few tips for those of you who need to drop your tranny for
w/e reason… There’s usually 3 sheet metal screws on the engine bay side
that screw the sheet metal cover to the bellhousing. Make sure that those
are out if your tranny isnt coming out. Also, its usually easier if you
remove the transfer Case first. It’s just 6 bolts connecting the TC to the
AX15. Splits the weight up. Makes things much easier. Also, always make
sure to support the engine under the oil pan…

@pauli4975 glad i could help

swiftscout4 says:

Getting ready to drop mine. Thanks for the heads up. You have reminded me
of somethings that are easily overlooked. I cleaned the heck out off it
this weekend. I found a nut missing on the suspension.

John Smiff says:

I’m having the same issue on my 93. There should be two little metal tubes
coming out of a rubber grommet on the driver side. The one with rubber
tubing attached to it (the thing he was removing in the vid) is the line
from the master. The other little tube has the bleeder valve on it

HexagramMan says:

would it make any sense to put a stage 1 clutch kit in an 05 wrangler
unlimited? v6 6 speed. Ive looked around and i haven’t found anything like
that being done. thanks

Tony Ferrari says:

Oh NOOO!!! Is there a Part 2 where you disassemble the clutch? Maybe you
can answer a question/put me in the right direction… I let someone borrow
my Jeep for a few days (with will never happen again) and they returned it
saying that there is a problem with the clutch. I got in and the clutch
pedal only travels 1/2 way back up from the floor. They said that they had
a problem getting from 1st into neutral. The gears still disengage when I
press the clutch, but pedal travel is almost nil.

Heather Beck says:

I’ve got a 1988 Jeep Wrangler Laredo and we are completely out of ideas. We
just replaced the master and it still wont shift unless it’s moving. My
jeep is literally my child and i couldn’t imagine giving it up, too many
memories. if you could help me troubleshoot thatd be awesome! thanks man

GummiBounce says:

Once the tranny is off, there’s nothing keep the engine from rotating. If
you’re having trouble removing the tranny, wiggle up and down, right and
left at its tail while pulling outwards. Make sure that there’s a tranny
jack there to support it in case it pops out. That’s all i can think of for
now. Hope this helps those who’ve never done this. Don’t give up… PS:
Putting the tranny back in is real fun too…

Rex4x4 says:

Thankyou 🙂

jc6495 says:

Hello. I was wondering can you tell me how to bleed the clutch i have a 93
jeep wrangler

Matthew Johnston says:

@Robinsonauto First, I appreciate your videos and have come to you several
times in the last year. I think it is excellent that you film your work, so
that we can all learn from you. Thank you. Now, I was hoping you might
offer me some advice. Today, I went to get in my 94 wrangler, and the
clutch pedal does not engage. It depresses, but only has resistance in the
last inch or two. The reservoir is full and I have no leaks that I can
determine… That’s all I can diagnose. Help?

channelurviews says:

been there with the skid plate bolts… and good call about the tape around
the caps of the u-joint. I learned the hard way.

MisterMattyMo says:

“Sometimes if you threaten them, they come lose.” LOL

apoclypesable says:

I was wondering if you could help me bleed the slave cylinder its internal
so they sY and I dont know where to find a bleeder valve

sexybuns91 says:

do you have to do all that to replace just the clutch?

adam france says:

hello i have a 95 jeep yj that wont go into gear would that be the tranny
or the transfor case? thanks

skiboo2 says:

You know after I have seen the video, and the trouble your having with that
Jeep – You should charge that guy extra! And I’m not joking, Will! I did
not think of the mud, and for that I’m sorry. I should have ran it through
a car wash. I like the video thus fare, LOL… I liked the part where you
scared the bolts off. Nice touch. Thank you Sir! Keep up the good work!

Brian Potter says:

I have an XJ, with auto, how much trouble will it be to convert to stick?

Greg Jeppson says:

I have to replace my slave cylinder so I am gonna put in a new clutch while
there any other things I need to do /get? 1987 yj

robinsonsauto says:

Heather, does the clutch pedal feel good disengaging at stops and starts?
if so i would highly doubt its a clutch issue and more internal, however if
the pedal is real low, wanting to stall out or keep going at stops then you
may have a clutch or hydraulic issue

skiboo2 says:

Oh yeah, good good…. can’t wait to see that trans video! Your doing a
great job, and helping out a lot of people… keep up the good work man! I
also checked out Wells sight… very cool! I’m going to add them as a
friend… take care!
