This time on @AutoEdits I’ll show you how to replace the front door weather seals on the Jeep Wrangler JKU. First we’ll go through which brand you should get as replacements… here’s a spoiler alert… get the Mopar OEM seals. I cheaped out and bought the Omix-ADA because they were SO much less money but I don’t really like them. I will wait to give a full verdict until after water testing which will happen in the very next video… SO MAKE SURE YOU ARE SUBSCRIBED!
The next video in this series will show how to replace the Windshield Header Seal that goes across the front of the roof. And in that video, we’ll do a full water leak test and look for the usual spots and try to remedy any leaks.
This first link is to the AutoEdits Amazon shopping list with the parts I used in this video, including both Door Seals from Mopar (recommend) and Omix plus the Header Seal from Mopar.

Howdy everyone, thanks so much for being here! I put links to all the parts and options in the video description. If you can help support the channel, please consider hitting the JOIN button and become a member. I'm just working out how all the perks will go and with your help we can make that pretty awesome. Enjoy your drive!
Thanks so much for this Jason. I have been fighting the wading pool of water that accumulates every time it rains on my '14 JKU. I've done the replacement to the newer MOPAR seals for both doors, as well as added a stick on gasket to the door frame itself. Now only the driver side is doing it (which is still so maddening.)
Wish I could do the paid thing man. Just got a 2015 2 door willys adition4. I love your videos. Can't wait to get started with it'll. Been rewarding your stuff
As a Jeep tech, the header seals a rarely bad, it’s the adhesive at the very ends that fail, I usually just use some butyl and fill in the gap and smooth it out. Even the new ones need butyl at the ends to get it sealed up right. Also the door seals will break in after a while
Jason, my family loves your chanel and content. We are huge Jeeps, desert and Death Valley fans. Waiting for more your adventures. Very happy to become a member!

That 50 dollar piece was shocking! Its so little omg – great vid Jason this is really informative for when i tackle this project on my JK
the Innovative AT Products 4 tire air system I found from your video is absolutely FANTASTIC!
I am happy to become a member! You have helped me immensely over the past seven years of Jeep ownership, and I know firsthand what goes into creating content and getting it up on YouTube. Keep up the great work!
Hi Jason, good to see you back working on JK. Membership? Heck yeah, I'd be more than happy to support your channel. Let me know when you got things sorted out. Count me in, buddy.
Apparently the Mopar door seals have been revised since they made our 2013's so that they allegedly don't leak anymore
First time joining a YouTube membership. Had to YouTube how to do it from my phone. lol
Jason love the videos
Good video. I did the seals about a year ago and it made a difference. Doors are still harder to shut which I actually appreciate. 2 things. One, if you have a JK before 2015 I highly recommend ordering the seals from a 2015 to 2018. They have been redesigned a little and seem to do a much better job at keeping the water out. 2, you mention tolerances. One thing I have seen on a lot of different JK's is the door alignment in and out. Essentially how tight it closes to the body. I have noticed a larger number of them the doors are not quite as tight to the body so when you close them, the door feels slightly further out from the body. Just a recommendation, but consider making a video for adjusting the hinges to resolve this. Even after replacing my seals I still had some leaking, still using the Freedom Panels, at the top of my doors. Both sides were not tight to the body with the passenger side being worse. Loosened the hinges (bottom and all but one bolt at the top then reverse) and adjusted my doors closer. Fully resolved the issue. And a side note, the Bestop Sunrider for Hardtop, after getting new rails and hardware, no longer leaks. Haven't got a drop inside. Only downside is still thier customer service. I let them know again and they opened a case again to only close it again without ever contacting me back. Third time in a row I have had this happen. All I really wanted was a partial reimbursement for the updated parts I bought so just be aware their customer service for warranty issues leaves a lot to be desired. YMMV.
I have never joined any channel ever…until now. I'm happy to support you in some small way every step of the way.
personally cant help now but maybe in the future! you're content is great and definitely worth supporting!
Thank you for this video. I’ve actually been considering now that I have to change that on my doors pretty soon as well as the hinge. Sleeves as I’ve not taken my doors off yet this was very helpful and I do like your other videos as well. Have a great day.
Take my money dude!!!
Last winter my Jeep started to leak on the driver door. I suspect it is that front corner. And I totally forgot that it leaked until I saw this video. So before the big rains hit, I need to see how it is leaking.
I would never join any YouTube memberships….. except for yours. You are phenomenal and I, and I’m sure lots of others, would be more than happy to support you. You make phenomenal videos and are one of the main reasons I got into jeeping. Hopefully we can all work together to help you keep this thing running!
