VaporheadATC says:

Get some Felpro gaskets. Good stuff.

VaporheadATC says:

It would be a good idea to replace the oil pump while you are down there
too fellas.

chicago85bearz says:

I am interested to know how it worked out, any leaks? Also what
manufacturer was that for the gasket?

nacho cheese says:

Thanks a bunch!

Thank you for the wonderful information

Jeepsolid says:

nope. Didn’t have to remove anything else. My Jeep has 3.5 inch lift, which
gives a little more room to work though.

James Colby says:

Did you have to remove the exhaust or c converter or anything?

James Colby says:

Sorry let me elaborate, I’m replacing my gasket and was told I have to
remove the exhaust and maybe the converter. Did you have to remove anything
to get the oil pan down?

Jeepsolid says:

as you can see in my video, you can get to the rear main seal simply by
dropping the oil pan.

Micah Moore says:

First of all, excellent video! Very helpful, so thank you. The only concern
I have is that I was told by an auto mechanic that you have to drop the
transmission to get to the rear main seal. Is that false? I have a 98 Jeep
Wrangler w/ the inline 6.

Jeepsolid says:

rear main bearing cap bolts 80 ft pounds

425diaz says:

do you put rtv between pan and gasket (i got the same felpro gasket)?

luxstar4life says:

what was the torque for the rear main bearing?

experience4064 says:

Your video gives me a pretty good idea of what’s causing my engine to leak
oil and how to fix it. Thanks.

David Smith says:

If you rotate the crank as you are pulling the rear main seal out it will
slip right out by hand.

About to replace my gasket. Gods advice, nice vid

muaddib420 says:

Nice video. Wish I had so much room under my XJ LOL

Jeepsolid says:

Nope, no RTV needed under the gasket. Just put a little on top of the oil
pan gasket in the 4 spots I show in the video.

troybyers77 says:

Thanks heaps I have a 94 jeep cherokee and I got told the gearbox has to
