Most cases, all connectors are “Keyed”. They fit only one spot.

The radio unit on my Grand Cherokee (1999) only produces static now.
Happened after a visit to mechanic’s shop. Have checked fuses, antenna,
etc. (but never pulled unit out) and battery has been disconnected numerous
times since … still no radio. Cassette tape plays fine. Any suggestions
what to try next to get radio to play again? It’s a mystery! Thx…

Ricardo Quiroz says:

What is the name of the tool you are using, can you please spell it out?

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

Not a repair we do for this stereo.

Just like Allen McDonald, my stereo lights quit working also. Fortunately
my neighbor has the same jeep as I do. And he recently replaced his stereo
with an after market stereo. So he gave me his old stereo. This wasn’t a
job that I thought I could do myself but thanks to this video I swapped out
the stereos in less than 5 minutes. Thanks a lot!!!

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

Just a pry tool. They can be found at most auto part stores and harbor
frieght. The plastic tools tend to not mark the dash when prying.

Would it do any damage if i removed the panel with a flat head screwdriver?

Can the clock/station display light on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee be fixed?
The radio works fine but no clock or station display. Do i have to replace
the radio?

Tate Munro says:

This was spot-on helpful! My son had stuck a coin in the CD player and it
wouldn’t play past track 8 for the last year. Pulled the stereo using a
plastic bicycle tire pry tool, then used a small allen’s wrench to unscrew
the star bolts holding the metal casing of the player for which I didn’t
have the right tool again. The coin dropped right out and now the CD player
works perfectly!! Thanks, Boblizcou

Cathy Hanley says:
