hahah. glasses at the end got me dying.
That was a nice video, I would be a little more cautious when dealing with
the positive terminal. It sounded like you hit the hood with your
ratchet.
Great tutorial! Really good if someone has never done this before. But just
a little wisdom, always disconnect your negative terminal when doing
electrical work! I once shorted a ratchet across terminals while removing a
negative to do some work, it welded the socket onto the ratchet, and welded
the mechanism in the ratchet solid. Just a little advice.
Thanks for such a comprehensive video! I’m new to adding mods(just finished
CAI) to my ‘Mall-Rated’ JKU; this will def help me change that status!!
What settings did you have your multimeter on when testing for the ground
and what measurement were you looking for? Thanks
You know what your talking about and make a good video thanks for the hlep
thanks Bought a front bar and 3 KC 151 6 inch lights looking forward to
mounting every thing up when the Bar arrives in two days
Matt, thank you for the great video. Your easy to follow instructions gave
me the confidence to install a pair of KC’s myself. Did it yesterday and
was successful. Thank you for help.
Thanks for a great video! Going to tackle some KC Hilites for my JK!
Thank you. Great helped, you the best Matt
ive wired my 08 f150 with spyder halos myself, and was successful. But for
any of these offroad lights, would i just need the battery as a source of
power. i would only need to wire it into the headlights if i wanted the
low beam and high beams correct? sorry if i sound naive, im only 16.
I have a dodge ram 1500 2008, and it did not come with fog lights and want
to install them. Do you have a video that shows how to do it in a ram 2008?
thanks
find where it is leaking, then replace the hose
how do i fix vacuum line leak?
ya, thanks for the comment and the sub!
Awesome video, all the other videos were explained poorly, confusing, or
made it look complicated. But yours made it seem like the average person
can do it easily in an hour or two. Thank you so much!!!!! 8D
You have a bit of wire on your face!!
Sweet thanks. Simple and informative!
look for a 12v SPST relay. (single pole, single throw) The typical 30/40
amp relays will do for a pair of lights up to 150w each which is a lot.
There are a few specific cases where a pre-made harness is wired for a dual
87 relay (Hella and KC do this on some of their harnesses). YOu will know
your harness needs a dual 87 relay if your lights come on separately. One
light turns on when the switch is OFF, then the other light comes on when
the switch is turned ON.
sounds like you have it wired incorrectly. I would check that you have the
relay wires connected properly.
Damn, she’s got some miles huh lol
Hi nice video, Looking for a litttle help and thought you might be able to
help me. I have 4 offroad lights on top of my truck that are 100 watts
each. I had all 4 on the same relay and switch and blew the relay so I
bought 2 relays and hooked 2 to one relay and switch and 2 to the other
relay and switch and I still have the same problem, they worked for a month
or so then blew 2 more relays. Any idea why? Thanks
I finally got to see you guys. Of course I didn’t realize it until it was
too late. WR OHV. By the way, great vids. Thanks for being as cornfuzed as
me.
where did you get the wiring harness?
if lights didnt come with a harness how can I know what type of relay to
get?
ahhhh, dang, that reminds me. I have to wire up my lights. I got one of
those cool glow switch boards that fits in the ash tray in the XJ. it has 4
switches.. hmmm I better get on that. Recommendation on the XJ for a place
to put relays?
Don’t forget to check local laws when installing. Some states require
covers, some require being wired into the brights or dims (depends on the
state). Some have limits on the number of lights you can have. When buddy
put lights on his truck, he used a solenoid designed to run a heater on a
school bus, lol. Needless to say, it handled the current draw fine. 😉
Dude you are awesome. I just bought a 91 XJ and all of your videos are
helping me with everything that I have wanted to do it. Thanks for all the
videos. keep up the good work.
Sweet, thanks!!!
Nice video. Simple and informative. Thanks. You answered the questions I
had with the grounding.
Cool video dude ! You make things simple !
Just in time… Hooking up my KC’s tomorrow! Thanks for the video!
