The starter is a powerful electric motor that gets your engine to turn over when you turn the key in the ignition switch. If a motor has worn out or become damaged, your vehicle won’t start. This video shows you how to install a new starter on your 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee.

@elliotsimpson3591 says:

I'm guessing this is the 4.0L 6-cylinder, as the V8 is INCREDIBLY more difficult and far less access than on this video

This really helped me replace the starter on my wife's 2001 Cherokee today. 1/2 hour start to finish. I am now her hero, but the mechanic in the video is the real hero.

@hfisher8605 says:

Thank you for this video. I watched it again and again, and was able to remove the old one and replace it with a new starter without issue.

@christopheranderson8511 says:

Easy enough, thanks for the great video. Would have been easier without satans socket driver but i made do.

@richardrowlands4705 says:

Fantastic video! Needs more clarity on removing that electrical with the red tab though! Had a bitch of a time figuring that out.

@robertsims6136 says:

VERY GOOD VIDEO. TY

@laurenmerritt7665 says:

Great job on the video. I had to remove the oil filter to get access to the ignition connector. Somebody had installed a longer filter than spec. And I haven't degreased so it's a bit harder to see everything on mine!

@zeitGGeist says:

How tf am I supposed to know if a video is quality without the dislike counter? Wtf???

@isaackarlin7569 says:

If you don’t have one of those censored wrenches what should you do?

You made everything very clear, thank you.

@GIRAF92 says:
