Exccelent video. Just saced me a lot of frustration! Thankyou
I guess you must have used an end wrench or something for leverage on the base of your vise, it’s got a pretty nice bend, lol
Wow thanks for that info! You just saved me hours of work and money actually
You are the man!! A day of aggravation took a few minutes after i watched your video. Thank you.
YES!!! THIS ONE! First of about 20 videos on the subject, that actually made sense.
I unfortunately parked my Jeep up against the fence on the passenger side, so had to get the u-joint out while still in the axle. But, your method was the correct choice. Thanks sir.
got to do mine on a ’96 CJ cause of a death wobble at 50 mph with oversized tires. I read forums how tough it is do this. I replaced driveshafts, axles, pinion gears, etc. Thanks for showing video. You seem to know the trick for axle u-joints B^)
Thank you!
It doesn’t matter here.If you are going to be taking things apart, mark it whether it matters or not.
Those u-joints were still good.
Man you made easy work of removing those u joints. I had to do mine in on my front axle. The task no longer seems so daunting now that I have watched your vid. Thanks for posting!
Not sure if it matters or if the shafts are balanced, but I usually mark them so that I can put them back the way they came apart(just in case there was some sort of factory balancing).
Its funny how modern shop manuals/ instruction sheets/ reloading books are filled with warnings and dont do it yourself, you suck affirmations there are how are you supposed to learn anything if you dont try
My 98 cherokee is the biggest p.o.s. ever im done with jeeps my old cj was cool though video request for old ford king pin removal
would you want to mark the shaft so they would go back together in the same position ?
I think every time I’ve ever replaced a u joint on any of my Jeeps, it never went even half that easy! LOL
these videos are invaluable information. Sure I don’t have a Jeep wrangler, but hey I might someday. And chances are doing the same process on other vehicles are similar. Thumbs up, god bless, dont stop….you get the picture lol.
lol.. good thing my internet works in the garage! Thanks for the great tutorial!
“Things you can do yourself with a little bit of effort…” “Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Colossians 3:23 – Thanks for the inspiration Cody!
Nice job! Made it look easy as you usually do.
