Hi i have a 98 chrysler cirrus and i was replacing my injectors but when i
took the intake manifold off the gasket had oil, what causes that and
should i replace the gasket?

egtarheelfan says:

EZ out is the worst tool to use. I know this from experience. What I had to
do to my 300 ford was actually weld buttons onto the end of the broken off
stud (being extremely careful not to weld the broken stud to the
block) until I had enough filler metal on the end to weld on a nut. Then
let her soak in PB Blaster over night, hit her with the torch in the
morning (just have a fire extinguisher handy) and she finally broke loose.
Hard to explain the process.

Hey ScottysDetailing…guess what…no one cares what you think guy

bleepinjeep says:

I would assume you can but I’m no welder… you might want to ask one.
there are some good welding channels on YT

Take it easy mate, live and learn.

denny177 says:

i think he is more worried about the metal shavings getting into the motor.

Patrick Murphy says:

I took my manifolds off an templated the gasket onto each. I found that the
replacement Gasket was fairly close, but it was blocking the ports
slightly. Using a Dremel tool to carve away the overage the fit became
perfect.TIPS: Use PB Blaster on those bolts, Use an impact gun to remove
the bolts, Check your motor mounts/tranny mount, clean out the intake
manifold, Clean the fuel injectors, Blast and paint the exhaust manifold,
change the EM ring and bolts where it meets the muffler pipe, etc etc

Mike Sb says:

can I flux core weld the exhaust ..manifold doesn’t look cast?

MrJacksjb says:

That’s a stock cast iron cylinder head. I doubt it has a port and polish
job that he’s going to mess up.

chicago85bearz says:

What is wrong with using sandpaper?

Greg Moser says:

You’re an asshole

bleepinjeep says:

usually you can hear or feel the leak. it will mess up your O2 sensors for
sure.

You are boring- need some excitement

mudhound0530 says:

love your vids.

Patrick Murphy says:

As Denny177 says, you do NOT want that debris getting into the motor. I
hosed mine down with engine degreaser, waited for it to do its job and then
used a towel to wipe it clean. This way you won’t get crud in your engine.

Klutz says:

Mine is cracked.. If it’s damaged, you’ll definitely hear it. It sounds
like a loud ticking/puff of air when each cyl fires. As for the O2 sensors,
I’ve never had a failure with them or even an engine light, and I’ve been
running the cracked manifold for over 6 months.. But you’ll definitely hear
it. (I actually have had an O2 sensor fail, but that was because it got
smashed by accident during a tranny swap. That definitely gave an engine
light, but surprisingly after 6 days of driving lol)

Mike Sb says:

What happens if you have a bad exhaust gaskets or a broken manifold and how
can you tell this is the problem?

roguesquatcher says:

Sandpaper near the intake ports??? Gee I’m sure glad your not working on my
Jeep.!!! Unsubscribing
