it will destroy the rubber boot but yet it will come out, have your tryed prying down on the steering arm while hitting it with one hammer in the same place cody was?
would a ball joint fork work for the pitman arm removal ?
Socket will likely crack and slip before shattering.
no chance of it shattering. the problem is it destroys the socket eventually.
Is it true that using regular sockets on impact guns is dangerous because they can possibly shatter?

Flare nut wrench is what i know them as..i’d also call the “seal” a boot.

Over the years, I’ve amazed a lot of frustrated “parking lot mechanics” with that technique for removing taper fittings. It sure is better than anything else out there!
