survivaleveryday says:

Where did you get the axles? Great videos

publicsafetydan says:

Except be sure not to tighten the hell out of just one hub bolt, do them
all evenly. Also, torque wrench?

86Jhard says:

Just replaced my two front u joints after watching this video. FYI for a
jeep TJ the 3 12point bolts that hold the hub is 13mm not 1/2. Awesome
video thanks

flapjackthemermaid says:

Front axles don’t have c-clips, they can’t fall out due to the hub.

patrick kane says:

Hi, I have a 1993 grand Cherokee limited, can you tell me if my front diff.
is a dana 30

Ed Knappage says:

could u show how to put in a pinion seal thanks

MultiMrchevy says:

hi i have a 1993 4×4 gran cherokee limited my question is when installing
the passanger axle does it have to match like the driver axle u joints

ed0985587 says:

I’ll give it a shot. I actually have some pb blaster soaking on it right
now. I am trying to tackle it again at the moment.

bleepinjeep says:

get a breaker bar and a 10 foot pole on there… that sucker will come off!

bleepinjeep says:

I personally wouldnt put much money into a D35.

ed0985587 says:

That’s funny…axle nut comes right off. I tried to take my front off last
weekend to replace my front passenger hub assembly. Pulled the pin and
soaked it in pb blaster. Let it sit. Busted a 1/2″ socket wrench (craftsman
so under warranty luckily), which I know I should have started with a
breaker bar to begin with. Switched over to the breaker bar…nothing. Used
a hydrolic jack to ‘jack up’ the breaker bar and STILL nothing. Someone
must have red loctited that thing on there..

ed0985587 says:

Good video by the way. You always have good videos for Jeepers! What do you
think about running the chromoly axle shafts in a D35 rear end on a TJ?
(running 33’s). Would I risk and ring and pinion damage under a hard
wheeling condition?

bleepinjeep says:

sure, thanks for subbing!

Ernie Anfield says:

Thanks for the great video. I’m definately going to do it myself.

MrJacksjb says:

At around 75 ft/lbs you will fart, at 175 ft/lbs you will crap yourself.
Very scientific and accurate.

bleepinjeep says:

I would suggest putting the old dost cover back on or getting aftermarket
tube covers.

1ace1966 says:

It didn’t look like the axle was all the way in and how are you going to
keep mud and dirt etc. out of the axle housing?

bleepinjeep says:

yep, that is very important.

Mark Fritchen says:

Isn’t the torque amount important? Everywhere i look says the hub nut is
suppose to be 175 ft/lbs and he hub bolts are suppose to be 75 ft/lbs. But
other then that i like your videos.

Adriano jujuba says:

about the seal, do not install?

relentlesspursuit1 says:

the new hubs seem to be the same and it didn’t really want to move in
forward or reverse. I also put new brake pads at the same time, they look
identical to the old pads except for the fact they are much thicker. Seems
to be too much brake drag. When the jeep is up on stands with the tires
back on they won’t even spin.

bleepinjeep says:

well… i guess if ya got the money that sounds good!

dugbug123 says:

Nice upgrade Matt

bleepinjeep says:

how can you tell since I never show the top of the spring in the video??

timmytom1991 says:

hey i got a 2001 tj with a dana 30 in front and 44 in rear with 3.73 gear i
think. do you think it would be hard to find a dana 44 for my front. or
hard to swap it? i was gonna wait till i lift it 4 in tho so maybe just
maybe i wont have to do anything to my drive shaft.

Jasarge says:

Thx so much.. headed to jy to get spare drivers and passengers.. just to be
safe on trails not stuck when I push it to much.. very helpful how to
vids.. thx for your knowledge

My96XJ says:

thanks for that info

1ownjoo2 says:

Btw nice Job not torqing down the axle nut… That is important this isnt a
waterpump or something you can just tighten down snug..

bleepinjeep says:

wish I could help you but I have no idea and would only be speculating, but
my speculation would be non-c-clip.

bleepinjeep says:

ya, I have to polish my wheels more frequently… hahaha

Jacob Davidson says:

ok, i found a magnet, and it didnt do nuthin but pull the shards out. any
way you could upload a video on the carrier? never done any axle work
except axle shafts. or r there any helpful videos that you kno of on here?

SWarsMick says:

came here cuz I need to replace my upper ball joints, very useful thanks a
lot

bleepinjeep says:

75 for the hub bolts and 175 for the large axle nut.

Julio Sanches says:

Obrigado por ter postado esta materia, vai ser muito útil para mim. Júlio /
BRASIL.

bleepinjeep says:

if you have any play after cranking the large nut down then you need to
replace it.

bleepinjeep says:

I have hood pins on my green Jeep

bleepinjeep says:

make sure to take a big breaker bar. a lot of times the JY ones are a
little rusty!

bleepinjeep says:

do you mean axleshaft? the front should not be a c-clip as far as I know.
As for the rear I’m not sure.

RATM5783 says:

Can I leave the axle attached to the hubs to remove the shafts? I don’t
have a 36 socket lol

bleepinjeep says:

the d35 is a rear axle and quite a bit different, although still very
similar to a rear d44. maybe I can make a video for that one day as well.
