As a follow up: This fix is for Jeep Cherokee NOT GRAND. I have NOT
recommend this fix for anything other than the generations listed in the
audio of the video. ALSO: If your windows are “slowing down” or “working
“Sometimes”” it is mostly going to be the motor and regulator IN THAT
troublesome door. This fix is for when all of the windows are functioning
properly BUT ONLY from the driver pannel. PS. This IS reversable and to be
clear, the “ALL WINDOW LOCK-OUT” is basically being by-passed. If you do
this fix, then later purchase an all new driver side door control pannel,
you will NOT HAVE the “ALL WINDOW LOCK-OUT” feature, even on the new one.
If you are VERY TECHNICAL and can use a soilder gun, follow this video for

Question for you thomas. i have a 2 door sport and the only switch that
works is the driverside switch for the driverside window. thats it. no
locks or the passenger window although the switches do light up when i put
the key in the ignition. what are you thoughts?
This worked for me and took less than 10 mins. I used one of those wire tap
things instead of soldering. Thanks Alex. Now if I only knew how to make
the power locks stop messing up whenever someone opens the passenger door.
hey my jeep gc doesnt work from the driver side window i bouught a new
regulator but after 2 weeks i didnt work no more
Can you also post something about removing the panel? You said it was a
pain, but didn’t really show us the best way to do it without breaking the
plastic. Also might be good to see you put the piece back on again.
Otherwise a nice fix for this problem. Our kid is 17, so I’m not too
worried about her with the windows now. ;-)
My problem is that the right rear passenger power window slowly faded and
died. Will not work from switch on door, or drivers panel, All other
windows and all door locks work. WHat would you recommend?
curious, my issue isn’t just the other switches. The driver panel will
only operate the driver side window and lock, but will not control the the
other door windows, locks, or hatch? also will only operate the driver
side power mirror but not the passenger side mirror. And keyless remote
will not operate? all stopped working at the same time. checked wires
between the door and body and all seems to be ok? only driver and
passenger on drivers side rear can lower their window at their control.
seems as power is not getting to the passenger side of the vehicle or the
rear hatch (04 jeep grand cherokee larado)

I tried your fix on my 02 Dakota quad cad, the fix worked, then when I put
the switch assembly back in drivers door it quit working. I will make it
work sooner or later.

i cant find the fuse for the power windows , it don’t say in my manual
which fuses are for power windows, 2003 jeep grand , can you help

This works perfectly! I just used one of those quick splices where you
clamp it through the insulation instead of soldering. It took 5 minutes
including taking the panel off and putting it back on. The only catch was
that I needed a deep 7/16ths socket.

Does it apply to a Grand Cherokee. We just bought a 01 Grand with two
windows not working. The rear I assume is the motor. The drivers went up
and down some of the time, but now doesn’t at all. I opened door panel and
found there was a “jumper” wire installed and looped around the main wire.
I cleaned it up and used a clamp connector. Window went right up, but
hasn’t worked since up or down. When you hit the button, I can hear a power
clicking toward the passanger side, but nothing has worked.

what if all the window controls work accept the driver button itself? My
window’s stuck open and it’s been rainin like crazy lately. All the video’s
I’m finding are for the same issue that you listed. Can my issue be fixed

i have had this problem for a couple years. i thought for the longest time
it was a ground issue. i rewired a ground to the game and it didn’t fix it.
i was one of those guys that went to a junkyard 2 times getting a new
master switch and neither one fixed the problem. i thought the jeeps
windows were destined to be a one man operator for life until i seen this
video. IT WORKS! thanks for the help man! your awesome! now i just need to
get the power mirrors to work. 🙁 any leads?

Just did this on my ’01, I used a splice adapter so it can be easily
removed. Didn’t need to remove any panels, just popped the two screws on
bottom and pried out the side panel enough to get in there. Took about 10
minutes and cost ~$3 for the pack of splicers at Auto Zone. Great post,

no windows working in my jeep are working.
Worked! (2001 Cherokee Sport) I needed to remove 3 screws along the bottom
(not 2) The 3rd screw is up against the seat. Because of the tight space
you’ll need a 1” stubby screwdriver. I didn’t remove the big side panel all
the way but I needed to use a piece of bent coathanger to hold the panel
out of my way while I worked, one end hooked on the panel the other on the
brake. I didn’t solder mine, just wired meticulously & wrapped extremely
tight (pulling/stretching the tape as I wrapped)
