Hello all Commander Owners There is a Class action law suite in progress.
I followed this very helpful video but after several hard rains it would still over flow its drip tray and drain into the car. Also there are 4 blue tubes, the back 2 tubes run down the pillar where the driver and passenger seat belts are too. use light air to blow them out but the rears are hard to get to. Please Email Info @ pllawfirm . com case number 12-zv-00760 Miller, et all vs. Chrysler group. Pllawfirm . com

You are awesome! I just got this problem the other day where water was leaking from the A-Pillar but I didn’t know why? This video is amazing. Thanks for that.

damion santos says:

That was the major part for my leak, the dealership quoted my wife 600 for the repair because “they had to remove the roof panel to fix it. Great video bud. Thanks.

Isaac Correa says:

yeah i have an 06 Jeep and every time i go through the car wash water starts pouring through the Hand Rails and upper center consul(where the garage door opener buttons are). the water just pours right through those buttons. Im definitely going to try this..

greekbobo says:

hi there great video , i got a 2008 jeep liberty north edition , the problem im having is , water on the drivers side and on the passengers side , i dont got a sunroof , do you think , its the same process. let me know thanks .

insanity23mike says:

My sunroof doesn’t go all the way back

Napalm Tom says:

I tried this but it was not causing the leak in my Commander. I found dented holes under the weather strip over the passenger door. I caulked those and the leak is not quite as bad. I suspect there is also water coming in from the roof racks. Do you know of any other causes of leaks coming down that passenger pilar?

Cyndi B says:

Woo Hoo!! Thanks that was great! and you made it so easy. I have a 2006 Grand Laredo and it was all the same but the hose was black.

jeffkcmo says:

Thanks so much for the fix! I’ve been dealing with this for over a year now! Excellent video!!

Naser Popal says:

Please let me know if you a fix for the master switch & locks sometimes they work sometimes they don’t .

Naser Popal says:

I rarely get this problem as well car will stall or jerks as you mention in you previous comment. You said you fixed it for $40 bucks . Some times the dash lights come up and it seems to be losing power then it becomes normal again . What causes this problem I am thinking its all from the leaky sunroof messing with all the electrical wiring threw out the whole car. I replaced the stock blue hose with a clear one which I got from Home Depot for like $6 bucks which i ran all the way down. EZ fix

Naser Popal says:

I have a problem with my master switch front power windows sometimes work sometimes they don’t. I changed the module and the switch still the same problem. ?! Did this happen to your jeep ?!

Thank you very much for posting the solution to fix the leaking.
I am a female and it was easy to do. The dealer wanted to charge $100.00 just to anayze the problem… HELLO.. I just told you the problem. Saw your video and it did it myself. Yesterday we had a hard rain and this morning I was afraid to look. I opened the door and there was NO 6 inchs of water. I jumped for joy. THANK YOU 🙂

It’s so easy even a girl like me can do it! 🙂 I am going to do this right now 🙂 THANK YOU!!!!!

Wolfseeker84 says:

Awesome. Very easy. I have more wiring on driver side that was more challenging but not by much. I checked other side and people before me who owned jeep paid someone to do same thing. I found receipt. Apparently shop was too lazy to do both sides. Lol. Thanks for great vid.

alexhurt33 says:

Dude thanks but what if the whole line is clogged do I use wire to clear the line or something else or its the clog gonna be just at the bottom

ibhson86 says:

Video on the rear drains please

chinzito says:

@Kesha Burton haha do it yourself!

Kesha Burton says:

Very very Helpful will get my dad to work!

Isaac A Wardell says:

Thank you, this is soooooooo helpful!

chinzito says:

@dakkon10 it will take more than a little water to make it back up. the tubes are at least six feet long

chinzito says:

@HLSCHWEN yeah even if they’re clogged the water will drain eventually. sorry if i made you sick 🙂

chinzito says:

@Jonathan Texeira it was nothing! glad it helps!

chinzito says:

@Richard Jacobs glad it helped you brother! i spilled a glass of water in my commander and wasn’t even mad. I’d had way more water in my jeep before

Richard Jacobs says:

came across this video today just in time…! i was about to take my 07 commander to the dealership..everything you explained worked….my passenger side was clogged but i did both sides anyway….thanks a million..

Jonathan Texeira says:

Chinzito, Your my new Hero I’ve been perplexed with the leak from the sunroof on my wife’s commander. been having problems with this for a few months now You ROCK!!!!!
thanks for taking the time to educate us simple folk…….

HLSCHWEN says:

Warning: take two phenergan to control motion sickness before watching this video. Thanks for the tips. I just had to address this problem on my ’07 Commander. I think the biggest problem is the red tips on the bottom of the drain grommets clogging up. I removed these altogether and then trimmed the ends of the grommets as you have shown. Mine weren’t that dirty but I hope this fixes the problem.

dakkon10 says:

Hey Chinzito, enjoyed the video, but a question. My grandmother has a Commander, and she gets water inside her car as well, but she’ll get condensation on the windows, on the dash and such, as well as puddles. I opened her sunroof up, poured some water into the place where water collects, and it right away drained to the ground under the car. Can I assume by that, that it’s not the hose that is clogged?

chinzito says:

@Emily Bell hi emily! you ought to be able to clear it out by hand or something small like a pipe cleaner. if that doesn’t work use compressed air. hope it helps! good luck to you!

JohnyCanuck1eh says:

Probably a dealership LOL

Emily Bell says:

How do I unclog the roof end of the hose?

chinzito says:

@Yasser Amer yes. that is totally normal. if you are getting water inside your vehicle and its getting on your carpet, you need to fix it

YASSER AMER says:

Is it normal that water came through the sunroof because i saw a trace of dry water on my malibu 2013 sunroof tray please answer???
