I actually watched your videos and did mine by myself…was easier than i
thought and my pin slide in and out pretty easily with no hitting
it….Thanks for the video you saved me a few hundred bucks!
good job on that fix but im wondering did you drop this camera in some rice
krispies cause its pop cracklin and a poppin like ya dropped it in rice
krispies lol
@69kid69 ahh its my old camera it started making that noise once in a while
after it go ran over for the 3rd time but till it finally croaks it will
still work for the occasional use when the other camera is full or for the
trickier shots that I dont want to risk losing my good camera on
Wow!!! lovely video!!! perfect. i have no words! very imformative. and very
professional. and very clear n understanding! im wondering does the 99 jeep
grand cherokee have a Dana 35?
@noshorts291 if you heat the retaining ring with a torch till it’s cherry
red . it will drop over the axle right tight to the bearing . It doesnt
hurt to cool the axle but no real need .
First time I did Axles I had trouble reinstalling axles. Its sometimes a
pain to line it up w/ the splines.. . I had a 10 bolt GM apart, The center
pin slid right out like butter.. So did the C clips. Crazy!
i have a 93 jeep grand cherokee laredo, same dana 35 and need just the left
axle shaft replaced in the rear, when i call shops they keep saying the
whole rear differential needs to be taken apart, but from what i saw, thats
not true.so i don’t pay for things i don’t need, whats an accurate price to
tell them for labor and why…anyone?????
He replaced the axles because it looks to me like the bearings are roller,
and the axle is actually the inner race…… My guess is the old bearings
chewed up the spot on the axle where they rode……
Whoops! Someone missed a four letter word in editing. lol. That’s a good
mechanic right there. You can tell by the natural way four letter words
come out. lol
make a simple tool. a 3/4″ piece of square stock steel and a 4″ steel
washer. weld the 3/4″ square to the washer in the center. then next time
when you are assembling a rear end or any end for that matter put it over
your socket and use an air hammer. if you want to get creative mill a
dugout an inch away all the way around the perimeter. no more ball pein
hammer and 20 minutes
Might i ask where you are from?
wtf is that noise
Great Video

you put new axel shafts in both sides too?
So Part 1 ends just after you drain the rear and then Part 2 starts and the
axles already out and on the ground? 🙁

Will this be the same process for a 97 jeep grand Cherokee
Really good video..thank you for posting!
Pops and clicks. Looks like another successful repair, although it did look
like a pain to do.
You did say “muck up the bearing” didn’t you Wayne ?.
Nice video. Why did you replace the axles?
