Joseph Loveskimchi says:

if their car is still over heating after following these steps it because
their pretty fucked, its gunna be a busted head gasket or a head it self,
rx7 is just bought over heats but no symptoms that its a busted gasket, so
it should be one of these, now people if you follow his steps and ur car is
still over heating, unless u have a rotary engine like me, there should be
no reason of you shooting smoke from ur car, unless its very cold outside,
other then that, if your car is shooting smoke, check your oil dip stick,
if its mixed with water ( for example milky looking instead of light brown
its a creamed cofee color) then that means its ur gasket and that over 800
dollar fix, so u gotta be sure u love ur car, or not just get a new one

ps31871 says:

if it overheats it will have a blown head gasket not because they missed
your tips

mike derocco says:

good info thanks

Al Ameri says:

If the engine gets over heat, is it ok to remove thermostat in order to
water circulation easy?

mzl81rang says:

Very thorough thank you…also love the goggles…is there risk of putting
air back into the system with the pressure cap off while running/testing??
I also thought that you are to put coolant in while the engine it’s cold
only, so how would it effect it one filling it with the engine hot?

Aziz Abdul says:

hello, my 04 Montana overheats. flushed the coolant system, replaced the
Thermostat did not helped. friend of mine told me to check if the coolant
if its circulating so i started the engine let it run lintel it got hot
but the rad was cold i opened the rad cap antifreeze started to coming out
inset of going in to the Engine. is that means i got a bad Water pump?

really good explaining! subscribed!

Chase Walker says:

Funniest shit I’ve ever seen!

Sheila Harris says:

hey I have an 80 chevy conv van, just changed the thermostat and fan clutch
and the temp light is still coming on what else could be happening

Keith Jang says:

Can I block off my heater hoses ? Will this have any affect on the cooling
system? don’t want to pay $120 for new hoses..

samuel mwatsuma says:

eric car guy, what is the work of radiator and radiator hose.

Gabriel Alarcon says:

excellent thakyou

glutton4punishment32 says:

thanks, this info should help me appear a bit more knowledgeable when i
have the repair dudes look at it tomorrow. they seem to always try to take
women to the cleaners because they think we don’t know about cars.

Raymond Quan says:

Get EVANS Waterless coolant. Runs at zero pressure and doesn’t boil till
375F.

john nicol says:

I have a problem with pontiac Montana 2000 van. whenever I had a long
ride and I come to a complete stop it starts to over heat but if I’m just
driving around town it won’t over heat but after a long ride it will start
to overheat again. The alert “LOW COOLANT” shows on & off. And everytime I
checked the coolant reservoir the water overflow near to the cap or
sometimes it overflowed. is there any problem with waterpump or the
headgasket.. Any tips or idea’s to fix the problem please? ?

Good video

toobigal says:

what is your temperature gauge setup? I fixed an overheating issue on my
’92 XJ but realized that the dash light only lights up when it’s almost too
late. I want to put an aftermarket gauge in. a tutorial might be nice. ;)

Timothy Cline says:

I have 2001 jeep grand Cherokee I replaced thermostat and it only over
heats when my jeep is in park after driving all day when I drive it cool

Keith Barkley says:

thank you for the info you guys are great

encanto63 says:

I have a 2002 impala I changed the lower radiator hose because it broke, I
immediately went to go replace it and decided to change my radiator cap as
well. but now my alert system tells me “low coolant level” but when I check
my car is not leaking coolant and levels are good. what could it be? the
coolant sensor? or something to do with my transmission fluid?

Javier Contreras says:

I have a town & country 97 and it runs great I can drive for hours and it
doesn’t overheat, but as soon I turn it off it release coolant to the
reservoir and it over flow it and drains some coolant off (about 2-3
liters). When my van is all cool down and I travel again then I don’t drive
for long and I have to stop because it overheat. I have replace thermostat,
radiator cap, and radiator I don’t know what else to do. please some
advise

Nitish Chauhan says:

2:56 made me laugh for some reason.

Ronnie Brown says:

my 99 honda civic is pverheating in idle i just got a new radiator and fan
still running hot hope its not a headgasket but how much due it cost for a
gen quote for a pressure test so i can check my hose

Remiliza Beard says:

your video is very helpful. But I still have a question. is it make a
different if you just put 50/50 coolant on the radiator after you flush it?
to burp it?

NakedSolidSnake1 says:

I have a leak in my lower radiator, IT WASN’T LEAKING until I put a
thermostat inside it. Why would it leak now? She can’t handle the pressure?
I’m about to take out the thermostat to see if it stops. Regardless I need
a new radiator

carmelo rodriguez says:

I have a 2000 subaru impreza 2.2l, I flushed the system out and after a
long ride or even getting on it hard once I come to a complete stop my car
starts to over heat but if I’m just driving regular around town it won’t
over heat but after a long ride it will start to overheat. Any tips or
idea’s to fix the problem? ?

Rob Cockerham says:

This is a very good video. I was expecting the host to bark at me, but he
kept a calm, cool demeanor. Well done!

AmicosBarandgrill says:

I think he means degrees in Celcius not Farenheit

Josh Boyd says:

i have a 2002 grand am gt i have antifreeze coming out of overflow tube
only wen the car is shut off no leaks anywhere else fuse is still good and
the fan still works would the thermastat cause this problem

sami khan says:

plz explain transmision oil flow & radiator.some ppl instal oil coolers.is
it necessary or radiator does the job fine? coolant for engine and oil for
transmision use the same radiator,how?

Andropwn says:

my thermostat got stuck closed and blew my radiator. luckily i got it
replaced in under a day

bleepinjeep says:

if I read the posts below correctly, you are not having any overheating
issues? Are you sure the coolant isnt flowing and you just cant see it
flowing?

Tim Stephenson says:

I have a 1990 xj and it over heats I replaced the thermostat, the water
pump and put clean antifreeze in it yes the thermostat is put in correctly
I took a heat gun and ran it up and down my radiator and noticed the bottom
is about 20-25 degrees cooler than the top. Does this mean I have a clogg
in my radiator?

crankypipo says:

im at my wits end here with my 05 civic. after a long commute(1 hour++)
when sitting at lights or traffic long enough the temp will rise and even
worse if i drive the car hard on the highway. ive never allowed it to go
near the (H) limit (tried to make air flowing as much as possible). the
fans come on periodically but cant dissipate the heat enough. No coolant
loss but reservoir shows full to the cap. had a coolant change recently but
problem still persists.

bleepinjeep says:

on my jeep the same relay works the fan no matter the reason for it coming
on. I have no idea but would start by figuring out what tells the relay
that the A/C is on then check the wiring from there.

Hector Garcia-Martinez says:

My ? is i changed the radiator, thermostad and checked it for any leaks
with a tool and it holds the pressure find and no leaks but my honda civic
still low on coolant on the radiator and goes to the reservoir but doesnt
come back, so what is wrong?

rodd240 says:

My coolant is boiling in the resovior. Bad thermostat or water pump?

jasonlweese says:

yeah, I took the thermostat out because when I idle for fifteen minutes
with it in my fan doesn’t come on. Tested the fan, the fan switch, the
relay etc. all is good…I think because the coolant isn’t flowing is why
the fan switch cant get up to operating temp. and send the signal to the
ECU to turn fan on. Yup, I contacted Eric and Scotty just waiting on a
reply. Thanks bro…and if you think of anything drop me a line.

Norman31chea says:

Jason, Fan don’t need to kick in until you run a low speed or idling too
long, I suggest you go to forum of Scotty Kilmer website and ask him his
opinion, Scotty has many many years of experiences as mechanic and he
answers for free to ea, question, he has a channel also on utube….or you
can go to another experienced guy…Eric The Car Guy, they both will help
you.

jake gwinn says:

I could use some help if you don’t mind, I have an old 67 ford f100, it has
a 352FE in it and it sat for 4 months with tap water in the radiator, now I
have flushed it and its over heating, is there an easy way to clean it out
or fix it easily without replacing?

Jesse schattschneider says:

New cap and coolant goes up and down in the reservoir

bleepinjeep says:

Thanks, Me too!

antoine mirezz says:

whAT is the spring inside the lower radiator hose doing ??? i dont have one,

bleepinjeep says:

bad radiator cap or plugged overflow hose

bleepinjeep says:

You need to follow the steps outlined in the video and diagnose the problem
before you start replacing parts.

jasonlweese says:

think I might go down to the car wash and blast some water through the
upper hose leading into the block…buy yeah, hope its just air. Thanks for
giving me some ideas…take care
