ELECTRIC FAN Install on the JEEP TJ WRANGLER | Budget Crawler Ep. 7

ELECTRIC FAN Install on the JEEP TJ WRANGLER | Budget Crawler Ep. 7

Today we simplify things by making them more complicated.
Instead of messing with the original radiator fan shroud I opted to install an electric fan in its place. Hopefully we picked up a few more horsepower at the wheels in the process…our little 2.5L motor needs all the help it can get.

I can't compare the video, as it's most likely a smartphone, but the sound quality, the tone of your voice, simple instructions and the cadence makes me think I'm watching old Sunday PBS or TLC in the early 90's…outstanding!!!!

Cody Eason says:

Will this fit the 02' 4.0L as well?

Chris Wyant says:

My green wire that doesn't really go to anything was the whole reason I watched the video it's actually for your AC fan to keep your compressor from burning up when you setting still running for your 134A coolant to not overheat and burn up your compressor I was wanting to see how you tied that in to your AC being turned on.

how much horse power do you gain from this? Like 2? No dynomometer testing?

James Kosco says:

Hi, what application is this fan from? Are you sure it's from an '03 wrangler? They all seem to be mechanical.

Thomas Fraser says:

I am doing the same mod but tapping the heater hose with a smaller fitting. The idea is that the heater hose always gets flow. It doesn't get blocked by the thermostat. Thanks for the video it was very helpful.

Indrid Cold says:

Remove the breather inlet tube from the air filter housing. You will not believe how much more power you will get. However, things will sound a bit different when you are accelerating.

Indrid Cold says:

Yes, definitely change the clutch style, belt driven fan out of your wranglers to an electric fan. The benefits are wonderful. But do not part with the old belt driven fan. The belt driven fan is near indestructible. The electric fans may fail. Your belt driven fan will be on standby for back up cooling duty and will install in minutes. Never throw away your belt driven fan when you replace it with an electric fan.

James Tepfenhart says:

Did you see any MPG difference with the electric fan.

Just_A_ Guy says:

Thanks brotha, ive had my electric fan sitting around for a while and never knew how to install it. I was missing the probe sensor and just found it in the comments. Now I can get this done !! Hell yeah. You just got a new sub!!

Travis Hale says:

What part of the country do you live in and how does this mod work?

Rick James says:

Vehicles made today aren't meant to be around in 30 years. Most of them won't make it past the 10 year mark.

Great build !

Thanks for the video. I need to do this on our TJ.

Cowboyfan0122 says:

Can you link the adapter that you put the probe into?

Angel Mata says:

Electric fans are so much better. I run a dual fan set up (small fans) and they do the job perfectly

Kurt Wolford says:

Can you just wire it so it’s on or off? Or does it Change Speed with coolant temp
