Based on what I’ve read, a drilled and slotted rotor, or brake pads is a
waste of money and a loss of surface “stopping power” area. Personally I’ll
just stick with this and if I want to help the stopping power I’ll swap
from drum to disc on the rear.
there is a company on the Internet where you can get drilled and slotted
rotors for a Jeep XJ for150 dollars for the pair
Thanks for the Great Info! There’s a real good how-to and “watch it be
done” video! Just goes to show with some simple hand tools, and a little
time, just about ANYONE can save some money and do a brake job themselves
with good quality parts. If one were to want some serious improvements over
the stock brake system on an XJ (which with the addition of larger tires,
is lacking in the performance dept.) …you could upgrade to slotted/vented
rotors, and step up to some Yellow Stuff pads from EBC.
