Just did this on my 2001 f350 bruh thought it was gonna explode i can even see your c clamp its bent so i know u put some serious pressure on this puppy before.
If the cup your force screw is pushing on is stuck, you will bend the ear in and ruin the yoke. Idiots like this is why we have to grind clips to free the joint.
Sometimes these u joints womt come so easy, especially when they have a lot of miles, i had mines with penetrant for 2 hours. Then extreme heat and it cracked the iron c clamp and warped it. Very sucky for my first ever u joint job.
I had to cut mine out they were so old
Personally i recomend pull it out if the transfercase. Unless you want it to slide out and fall on your head
Necessity is mother of invention

U joint caps and yokes have a slight taper and pushing them thru the yoke destroy that taper
