betoen says:

For what I have been seen on Youtube, the best way of get rid of the wobble is to get rid of the Jeep and buy a well made car.

Bent 13ways says:

@ dirt lifestyle. I've thrown springs shocks adjustable track bar adjustable upper/lower control arms and tires at mine. Got it aligned everything is good…still death wobble… What's left ball joints??? Tie-rod ends???

H Mojo says:

Great video! I have a 2018 Sahara and the Death Wobble started appearing at 10k miles. After 6-7 visits to the "stealership" and 10k miles later (20k miles on the Jeep) they now claim its from bad tires. The first time was tire rotation, then tire balancing, then alignment. I find it interesting that they never even brought up the known problem of the "Death Wobble to me. Thank heavens for your video!) Any advice on how to combat Jeep to repair a known problem on a relatively new Jeep? I wanted to give this to my 16 year old daughter but I have a hard time doing such as the vehicle has the death wobble quite often.

wes gray says:

I’m interested in who makes that ota track bar bracket and bar setup! Thanks Wes!

Ray Oliver says:

53 years MECH EXPERIENCE ,ALL THE YOUNG PEOPE FALLING IN LOVE WITH JEEP ,HAS TO UNDERSTAND THE STEERING SETUP IS FROM THE 1930,S AS A HE BUSHINGS WEAR ,PLAY INCREASES A LOT OF ROOM FOR TOLLARANCE NOT LIKE RACK SET UP,I REMEMBER AS A BOY IN THE FIFTY'S OLE TIMERS WOULD MAKE JOKES ABOUT DODGE TRUCKS AND THIER STEERING,YOU CAN TELL A DODGE IS COMING THE DRIVER IS WAVING ,HAND ON STEERING!AS FAR AS DEATH WOBBLE IT COMES FROM 1 PLACE ONLY !THE TRAC-BAR PERIOD! THE BEST WAY BLOCK THE SIDES OF BOTH FRONT TIRES GET A FRIEND TO SLOWLY TURN RIGHT TO LEFT GET A PAD AND PEN WATCH AND WRITE DOWN THE PARTS THAT HAVE PLAY ! BUY MOOG THEY MAKE THE BEST ALL THE OFF ROAD MARKET PARTS ARE MADE BY MOOG BETWEEN 9 AND 11 COULD BE WORN ,MAKE SURE YOUR CAMBER IS ZERO ON POINT DONT CHEAT FOR OFF ROAD THIS WILL PUT STREES ON ALL BUSHINGS ALWAYS ADJUST BOTTOM CASTER NOT TOP ON CAMBER SETTING!A PIECE OF HISTORY FOR FREE .THE OLE BEAST THE 4.0 WAS FIRST USED IN THE NASH 600 WAY BACK IN 1945 ,KAISER MADE JEEP FOR THE ARMY CONTRACT NASH AND HUDSON AND KAISER MERGED AND LATER AMC BOUGHT THESE 3 AND CHRYSLER AQUIRED AMC WHICH MADE THE WAGONEER,THATS THE REST OF THE STORY THE 4.0 IS 77 YEARS YOUNG!!!!

Jeremy Duncan says:

Seems there are way to many moving parts in this system. This is more or less the same steering system on my dads 53 Ford F100. Is there any particular reason the manufacturer hasn’t gone to rack and pinion?

beastumfan says:

I think having your tires balanced regularly/statically and not dynamically might be the main cause.

matt enser says:

Idk why I didn't think about the wiggle test but that helped me figure mine out!

jason velez says:

Awesome vid, great advice and great explanation on the topic! Thank you.

omar farrugia says:

I got a death wobble after changed the steering damper…both old and new are good but the new one give me a death wobble after 60km/h

Regular Guy says:

i had old m38a1 Willis years ago had that death wobble ,we didn't even know what to call it back then lol

thebad300 says:

tow being off will cause a feather edge on the inner or outer while a bad shock can cause it over the whole tire

thebad300 says:

fyi a prybar under the tire lifting up on the tire while the weight is off of it and look for play in the ball joints /kingpins some time shacking the weel wont show a bad balljoint

thebad300 says:

if i remember right the 1st gen chevy colorado has this problem and has a recall for spring right hight check and alignment check

Adam Morin says:

Some toe out is required for tighter turns to be made. Obv not severe but a few degrees iirc. And camber- I wouldn't go more than negative 2, maybe 3° on a car that has been lowered to an amt that actually helps performance. Trucks/lifted 4×4, not really sure. Factory should be 0 to neg .5° to allow customer to take turns comfortably and not wear tires unevenly. My $0.02, not that anyone cares. Just thought maybe some hard numbers might be of use to some… ? Great vid, digging your channel and gonna make some rock sliders and front and rear bumpers this weekend and rear gull wing windows when time allows. Still curious if you think the rear glass gate hinges would work on jeep zj's? Would use your fav rivbolts 😉 peace brother.
